Joel McHale is getting candid about his hair journey.
For Community alums who fall into this category, it involves regularly getting various cosmetic treatments to maintain their blond hair.
He informed We Might Be Drunk podcast hosts Mark Normand and Sam Morril during the June 16 episode that he was completely bald, adding that it was the result of four hair transplant procedures.
Joel shared his experience, saying, “I had that hair transplant technique where they take a strip of scalp, which was quite painful. I wouldn’t recommend going for a strip method.
Reflecting on his personal experience with organ transplants, he strongly advises anyone considering it: opt for the least painful option available.
“Do plucking,” he emphasized. “Now they pluck it from the whole back section, and it’s a miracle.”
Beyond mentioning that many opt for Turkey as a destination for hair transplant surgeries because of the reduced costs, Joel himself chose to undergo the procedure in Los Angeles. He acknowledged spending around $10,000 on his treatment and added that the cost might have increased since then.
He jokingly mentioned, “I could provide you with the name of someone in Turkey,” and added, “However, be cautious, as if someone says they’ll do it for $3,000, it might not be the best idea.
As he stressed, “You get what you pay for.”
Besides Joel, it’s not just one celebrity who has been honest about having a hair transplant; John Cena confessed to the treatment in November 2024, following jokes from fans about a noticeable bald patch.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show in April, John expressed, “You all tore me apart over an inherited issue that I have no power to change. In sync, your chants made me feel insignificant and humiliated.
The 47-year-old man explained that it was nothing to be ashamed of when dealing with his hair issue because so many men experience it, but he would have preferred not to receive criticism about it.
As a lifestyle advisor, I would say, “I find that behavior downright unacceptable and outdated. I appreciate your unwitting role in nudging me towards surgical hair restoration; it’s a testament to the limits you’ve helped me reach.

She expressed her hope that her children never feel such intense pressure about their bodies that they resort to harmful surgeries to become thin on Instagram. She considers cosmetic procedures like a nose job or breast augmentation acceptable, but she strongly believes that striving for thinness to the point of undergoing extreme measures is a sign of mental distress. This statement is made with utmost respect for those grappling with this issue.

What led the Bravo star to be so forthcoming about her facelift experience? She explained that, given her role in a reality TV series, it would appear unusual if she returned for the next season noticeably younger than before, which is indeed the case.
The singer has said she has gotten Botox.
Previously known Bravo celebrity has openly discussed her cosmetic surgeries in the past such as a rhinoplasty, breast augmentation, and experiments with Botox and fillers. Now, she’s opted for CellSound’s body contouring treatment to firm up her abdomen.

However, there’s no filler anywhere else on her body and definitely no blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) yet.
She added that she’d update everyone if she decides to make any more changes.
In a June 2024 Instagram video, Jill revealed that she underwent a lower facelift along with a few small adjustments. In an episode of my beloved podcast, Miss Me?, I candidly opened up about a personal matter back in March 2025. However, it’s hard not to notice the stark age difference between my youthful face and my… well, less youthful chest.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 star has spoken publicly about her nose job and her breast implants.
Apart from openly discussing her use of Ozempic for weight loss, the chat show presenter confessed that her 2021 facelift was a regrettable decision, stating in December 2023, “It made me look like a character from X-Men (specifically Cyclops)”.
In 2013, the ‘Born This Way’ singer confessed to radio host Howard Stern that she had a phase where she was heavily into smoking marijuana and became fixated on getting facial injections. Speaking as a fervent admirer, I’d rephrase it this way: “I went on to say, ‘Now everything has vanished. Just before the ‘Applause’ video shoot, a friend who happens to be a photographer expressed his affection for me by saying, “Lady Gaga, I appreciate you, but if you don’t halt those injections on your face, I might just have to end it all.’
The Real Housewives of New York star got breast implants in 2005, but removed them in 2008.
She shared with Life & Style that she now feels at ease. “Should there be anything that makes you uneasy, and if you can change it, then that’s fantastic,” she added.

Back in 2013, I shared my thoughts on a popular talk show called Today, expressing my fascination over its massive popularity. It’s incredible how many women have adopted the trend of enhancing their lips, and here I am, feeling like an early adopter! In fact, I was among the first to try it out and speak openly about it. Looking back, if given another chance, I would definitely do it again. You could say my lips have paved the way for a career of their own, as they catapulted me into the spotlight before I had any other professional accomplishments!
In 2009, at the age of 23, the actress from “Hills” underwent a comprehensive makeover involving 10 cosmetic surgeries performed all in one day. Besides Botox, chin reshaping, and a rhinoplasty, the reality TV personality also opted for lip augmentation using fat injections.
