At long last, WrestleMania 41‘s headlining match had arrived, but unlike many predictions, it unfolded in an entirely unexpected manner. The anticipation surrounding Cody Rhodes versus John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship was already unconventional, yet this bout took the surprise factor to unprecedented heights.
Initially, the audience booed Rhodes as Cena failed to make his grand entrance, and the unexpected continued with Cena’s moveset and underhanded tactics such as lowblows. And that was all before Travis Scott made an appearance on the scene! The match concluded in a wild fashion, with Cena emerging victorious and etching his name further into WWE history as a 17-time champion. As we await Cena’s next move, speculation abounds.
In this rephrased version, the action unfolds as follows: The two prominent wrestlers clashed, and initially, Rhodes emerged victorious in the initial skirmish. Meanwhile, Cena stepped outside the ring for a moment to gather his thoughts, while the audience echoed chants supporting both combatants. Cena seemed somewhat agitated by both the crowd and Rhodes, frequently using the ropes to hinder Rhodes’ momentum. Subsequently, Rhodes delivered a dropkick that sent Cena tumbling out of the ring, and Rhodes followed up by diving off and landing on him outside the ring.
This version aims to maintain the original’s clarity and excitement while presenting the narrative in a more natural, conversational style.

During the match, Cena managed to gain some momentum, pushing Rhodes towards the ropes and subsequently kicking him in the face. He then taunted the crowd briefly. Cena continued his attack by stomping on Rhodes, quickly interrupting any potential comeback from Rhodes with a kick to the head. At this stage of the match, Cena was firmly in control. Although Rhodes retaliated with a series of blows, Cena swiftly ended the counterattack with a side slam.
At the peak of the rope, John Cena descended powerfully onto Rhodes, ramming his head into the steel turnbuckle before executing another axe handle maneuver. Moments later, Cena returned to the top rope for a third time, only to be met by a swift kick from Rhodes, initiating a series of back-and-forth blows. John Cena then targeted Rhodes’ eye, almost securing a pin, but Rhodes managed to escape with a kick. In response, Cena mockingly kicked him down once more.
During their match, Cena prevented Rhodes from retaliating with a swift Tornado DDT and a subsequent shoulder tackle. Instead of delivering the five knuckle shuffle, Cena paused, opting for another shoulder tackle instead. As he pinned Rhodes down once more, Cena couldn’t help but break into a wide grin.
In the end, Cena attempted his signature move, but Rhodes accidentally poked him in the eye. This was followed by a slam and a Disaster Kick from Rhodes. Despite being lifted for an Attitude Adjustment and landing on the mat, Rhodes managed to kick out at the last second. Cena retaliated with his five knuckle shuffle, only for Rhodes to counter an Attitude Adjustment attempt. Rhodes skillfully dodged a subsequent attack, but Cena deliberately knocked him down onto the ropes to halt another comeback try.
Later, Cena hoisted Rhodes onto the ropes’ peak and executed an AA maneuver, yet it was insufficient as Rhodes managed to kick out at 2. Cena attempted another move from the top rope, but Rhodes countered and almost secured a pin. Rhodes followed with a Cody Cutter on Cena in an attempt to pin him down, but Cena narrowly avoided defeat by kicking out.
JOHN CENA HAS SET THE RECORD
HE’S A 17 TIME WORLD CHAMPION#WrestleMania

As a fervent spectator, I watched in awe as Rhodes attempted his signature move, Cross Rhodes, only to be met with an AA and subsequently the STF. Rhodes struggled towards the ropes, desperately trying to escape Cena’s relentless grip, but each time he got close, Cena hauled him back to the heart of the ring. Defeated and struggling, I saw Rhodes crawling again, only for Cena to pull him back once more. In a desperate attempt to gain an advantage, Rhodes unintentionally kicked Cena into the referee, causing him to stumble unconscious. With no official in sight, Rhodes seized his chance and executed Cross Rhodes on Cena, but alas, there was no one left to count the pinfall.
Later, Cena uncovered the turnbuckle and rushed towards Rhodes. As they clashed with blows, Cena forcefully drove Rhodes’ head into the exposed metal twice and followed through with a fourth AA. Cena attempted a pin, but the referee was just about to count when Rhodes miraculously kicked out at the last second.

It was then as Travis Scott’s music blared and he strode towards the ring, clutching the Hardcore Championship. It was Scott who had struck Rhodes during Elimination Chamber, causing damage to Rhodes’ eardrum, and now he returned to assist Cena, presumably at The Rock’s command.
In this wrestling match, Cena retained possession of the title, but Rhodes managed to knock down Scott. Instead of finishing off Cena with a Cross Rhodes, Rhodes found himself engaged in a confrontation with Scott. While they were tussling, Cena seized the opportunity to advance towards Rhodes, who skillfully caught the Title just as Cena begged. In response, Cena resorted to a low blow on Rhodes and retrieved the title once more. Meanwhile, Scott had instigated a commotion by pulling the referee out of the ring, leading to his own unconsciousness. Later, Rhodes ordered Scott back into the ring, and after a heated exchange, Rhodes countered one of Scott’s attacks with another Cross Rhodes.
At the climax of the battle, Cena propelled himself towards Rhodes, smashing him with the Title, yet there was no referee present. Nevertheless, Cena managed to get Rhodes to return to the ring and subsequently pinned him for victory. With this triumph, Cena has now broken the record and holds the title of a 17-time WWE Champion. The official match results are detailed below.
