John Cena Shares NSFW Confession About "Embarrassing" Sex Scenes

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience under my belt, I can confidently say that John Cena is truly a chameleon in his craft. His ability to step out of his comfort zone and take on diverse roles, from wrestling to acting, is nothing short of impressive.

John Cena would do anything for a movie—but he hates doing a sex scene.

In a recent open conversation, the Peacemaker star has shared that filming those particular scenes are extremely challenging for him, describing them as being the “toughest” to handle.

On the August 21st episode of Club Shay Shay, John expressed that there was no personal or private aspect to it, saying, “It’s absolutely nothing. Frankly, it’s quite awkward.”

In 2015, a 47-year-old actor reminisced about his impactful performance in the movie “Trainwreck,” admitting that he didn’t fully understand the explicit scenes he’d be filming alongside co-star Amy Schumer until they were nearly ready to shoot.

“He remarked that Amy was exceptionally kind-hearted. She created such a welcoming atmosphere, and later, when he landed the role, they proposed a surprising request: they wanted him to perform an explicit and daring stunt scene instead of using most of his lines, as the script would primarily focus on this scene.”

However, John enthusiastically agreed, even when they proposed he act out an extremely uncomfortable sexual scenario for comedic effect in the scene.

However, acting as if performing the task for the camera proved quite challenging with all the people present, as the WWE star pointed out, “It’s not just about one person; it takes numerous individuals to create a film.”

“I don’t want to say it sucks,” he said, “but it’s different than you all think it is.”

Moreover, these instances necessitated John to accept the reality that “others might ridicule me for my appearance or mock me,” a truth he had to embrace.

But as he added, it’s all about having a can-do attitude and “being OK with self.”

Amy’s reaction followed the disclosure, as she playfully jested about the situation on her Instagram Stories on August 21st.

In a playful tone, she said in the video, “John, I can hardly believe it!”, followed by a laughing-crying emoji. “That intimate scene had significant meaning for me, and I must admit, I was quite captivated. And let me tell you, I have feelings for you that go beyond the script.”

Despite his initial apprehension, John acknowledged that shooting those scenes felt far less awkward than standing nearly nude on stage during the 2024 Academy Awards.

He remembered stepping into a room filled with his colleagues, many of whom he hadn’t had the chance to meet before, as he hadn’t yet advanced far enough in his career for those encounters.

During the March ceremony, the Jackpot! actor helped mark the 50th anniversary of the famed Oscar streaker by coming out naked to present the award for Costume Design.

He expressed his excitement about being surrounded by some of the most accomplished performers, producers, and directors, stating that he would step into the room with a sense of vulnerability, asking if the material was amusing, appropriate, and satisfying.

John received a personal invitation from host Jimmy Kimmel to join the show, but despite his longing for a respite, he found himself unable to decline after reading the script. He had expected the experience to be more overt than it ultimately was.

He chuckled, saying, “I assumed I’d be completely bare, but instead, I find myself covered in tape. I thought I’d see full male anatomy, but it’s Disney, so they have rules about modesty even for me. That made it all the more humiliating. Walking around with a taped-up backside? Quite a challenge.”
