John Cena, a well-known action star in Hollywood, has expressed his interest in venturing into the horror genre.
During the 2025 Fan Expo Philadelphia, Cena openly shared his thoughts. When posed with the question about which role he would prefer in a hypothetical horror movie, he replied, “I’d say yes, because I haven’t starred in a horror film before, so I’m eager to be part of one. If you’re producing such a project, I’m ready and waiting.
Starting from 2021, Cena has taken on the role of Christopher Smith/Peacemaker within the DC Extended Universe. His debut was in “The Suicide Squad“, where Peacemaker was presented as a crucial and intensely loyal member, albeit one who often acts impulsively. Despite not earning enough to cover its production costs, with only $168.7 million against a budget of $185 million, the film was generally well-liked by both audiences and critics.
In 2022, the television series “Peacemaker” premiered, featuring Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase (Vigilante), Chukwudi Iwuji as Clemson Murn, Steve Agee as John Economos, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Robert Patrick as August Smith, also known as the White Dragon. The first season of “Peacemaker” was widely praised upon its release, prompting a swift decision to move forward with production for a second season.
Peacemaker Season 2 Will Get A New Theme Song
Last month, as the second season of my favorite show was about to unfold, I was secretly hinting at what fans could anticipate for Season 2. In truth, I had a variety of songs in mind, such as reviving an old hit and choreographing a new dance routine to “Do You Wanna Taste It,” but ultimately we decided on something fresh that I believe fits perfectly.
According to Gunn, “The second season seems to focus more on the characters themselves, their relationships, and their individual lives. It’s less about Peacemaker and more about Chris Smith. The song seems to embody this broader theme.
Peacemaker iSeason 1 is currently streaming on HBO Max. Season 2 is slated to premiere on Aug. 21.
