Johnny Wactor Shooting: Police Release Images of Suspects Involved

As a devoted fan of Johnny Wactor, I find myself both heartbroken and enraged at the senseless loss of this talented young man. His life was cut short far too early, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire us all.

Authorities continue to investigate Johnny Wactor’s death.

Approximately two months and a few days following the tragic shooting of a 37-year-old actor from General Hospital, who died in downtown Los Angeles, police have unveiled images of the suspects still on the loose. They are urging the public to assist with identifying these individuals.

On July 31, a community alert issued by the Los Angeles Police Department featured a photograph showing three individuals loitering by a black Infiniti Q50. They were trying to steal its catalytic converter. The image highlights three suspects, one of whom, referred to as ‘Suspect 1’ by the LAPD, is marked with tattoos above his left eye and on his right cheek.

As a dedicated follower, I’m reaching out if I have any information that could help in the case of Justin Howarth, the LAPD Central Bureau Homicide Detective, who is investigating the shooting incident involving Wactor on the night of May 25. This unfortunate event took place shortly after Wactor concluded his bartending shift at a downtown L.A. venue. Later that evening, my friend and colleague Anita Joy shared an emotional message on social media detailing the events of that fateful night. If you have any information regarding this case, I urge you to contact Detective Howarth immediately.

In a heart-wrenching Instagram post from May 29th, Joy recounted an unexpected tragedy: after 8 years of shared laughter, work, and camaraderie – from closing shifts at the bar to walking to our cars together – she found herself cradling her friend in the cold, dark streets of DTLA at 3 am. Tragically, he had passed away in her arms. Despite the tense situation, Johnny maintained his composure as usual, asking them to leave, hands open and peaceful by his side.

Actor who portrayed Brando Corbin on ‘General Hospital’ from 2020 to 2022 tragically lost his life at the scene. Further investigation revealed that he suffered a gunshot wound caused by a handgun.

As a trauma nurse who has witnessed far too many lives shattered by senseless violence, I cannot help but feel deeply moved and outraged by Joy’s heartrending social media post. The stark reality of the situation is all too familiar to me – that it was too close range, too extreme of a wound for him to survive it. Yet, there was something truly inspiring about his indomitable spirit, his unyielding will to live, and the courage he displayed in fighting to stay alive amidst such overwhelming odds.

During his time as an actor, Wactor has been featured in hit shows such as “The OA” and “Station 19”. Notably, his mother, Scarlett Wactor, shared that reviewing her son’s previous acting work aided her in dealing with her grief.

She shared with NBC News in May that, as she watches Johnny on the videos and recordings, she can merely wish that he is performing those actions in a celestial realm, finding joy in them.
