The event, dubbed JOJODay, promises to unveil significant updates about the franchise’s future, as hinted by promotional content reuniting the anime Joestars once more. Although this anime extravaganza is set to take place in Japan, Warner Bros Japan has some exciting news for Western fans who are avid followers of Hirohiko Araki’s work. What is JOJODay?
On April 12th, Warner Bros Japan is organizing a unique fan festival called JOJODAY STAGE. This event is dedicated to the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure animated series and will bring together past and future elements of the show. Notably, after almost six years, this live event will have a fantastic lineup of special guests! Among them are voice actors Kazuyuki Okitsu (Jonathan Joestar), Daisuke Ono (Jotaro Kujo), Junichi Suwabe (Leone Abbacchio), and Fairouz Ai (Jolyne Cujoh). Additionally, JO☆STARS, the talented trio behind the famous opening themes of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure series, will also be present.
Moreover, it’s been verified that Tomokazu Sugita (voicing Joseph Joestar), Yuki Ono (voicing Josuke Higashikata), and Kensho Ono (voicing Giorno Giovanna) will make special video appearances. Comedian Kendo Kobayashi will host the event, promising a multi-generational stage spectacle featuring these talented voice actors along with the artists performing theme songs from the series.
The Steel Ball Run Explained
From my perspective as an observer, it seems that if “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” adheres to its original source material, the upcoming anime season appears to be Steel Ball Run, a storyline that unfolds after Jolyne Cujoh’s departure. This seventh installment of the series is frequently hailed by Joestar fans as one of the best, and it revolves around a horse race spanning across the United States in the past. The victor of this race will be granted their deepest desire. What makes this series particularly intriguing is that it’s filled with Stand battles, many of which occur while riding horses.
At the moment when this article was penned, it remains uncertain if David Production will return for another round. This production company has been involved since the launch of Phantom Blood, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they are bound to the Joestars indefinitely. Here’s hoping David Production graces us again with their animation skills, bringing to life one of the most admired Joestar tales ever, including the horses and all.
