JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Announces New Live-Action Film

After the end of David Production’s “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean”, fans of the series have eagerly anticipated the comeback of their favorite Stand-centric anime. If the television series chooses to continue along the lines of its source material, the next story could be “Steel Ball Run“, a highly regarded arc in the JoJo’s world. As for any news on the anime side, there has been no announcement yet. However, on the live-action front, a new “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” movie is in production and is expected to release much sooner than anticipated.

One of the most memorable characters from “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” other than the Joestars, is certainly Kishibe Rohan. He made his debut in “Diamond Is Unbreakable,” initially portrayed as an adversary to Josuke but eventually proving to be a valuable friend. The series creator, Hirohiko Araki, has a particular fondness for the character, which led to the creation of a spin-off manga titled “Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan.” This spin-off has produced numerous chapters and even inspired an anime adaptation, a live-action television series, and a full-length film. Now, Rohan is set to return to the big screen with a story that is as captivating as it is chilling.

Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan: Confessional

Although the Rohan television series hasn’t produced new episodes for some time, its cast members are still active due to the movies. In “Confessional,” Rohan journeys to Venice and encounters a peculiar confession from a man disturbed by a supernatural entity. Interestingly, this story doesn’t offer much for Kishibe, so it will be intriguing to see how this eerie narrative is incorporated into the film. If you haven’t seen this tale yet, you can catch up with it on Netflix by watching the relevant anime episode immediately.

In addition to the fresh trailer for a movie coming out in Japan on May 23rd, director Kazutaka Watanabe shares his feelings about the filming experience: “Even though we’ve finished shooting, it still feels unreal to me that we managed to capture this significant and memorable chapter entirely on location in Venice. It was a city shrouded in mystery where yin and yang harmoniously existed. There were ruins, cemeteries, churches, aristocratic mansions, labyrinthine cobblestone streets. And as always, Rohan-sensei stood there, dignified. I hold every location and moment we filmed dear to me. I wish we could keep filming forever; I don’t want this time to end…

JoJo’s Future Stands Tall

Interestingly, Hirohiko Araki didn’t stop at creating a spin-off for Rohan Kishibe; he brought him back into the main storyline in the newest manga arc titled “The JOJOLands“. In this adventure, the new Joestar characters, Jodio and Dragona, find themselves face to face with none other than Rohan Kishibe as they strive to resolve their family’s financial woes. This unexpected return of Rohan has left many fans in a state of surprise not only because an old character is back in the series, but also due to doubts about whether the “new reality” portrayed in the series remains consistent or not. The conclusion of “Stone Ocean” laid the groundwork for a new universe within the anime franchise, and Rohan’s return leaves fans pondering just how much has altered and what aspects have remained unchanged.
