As a cinephile who has spent countless hours delving into the intricate world of anime, I must say that the news about JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s latest movie is music to my ears. Having followed the Joestar family’s adventures since their humble beginnings in the 80s, it’s fascinating to see how Hirohiko Araki continues to breathe life into this unique and captivating universe.

Previously, “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” has graced the big screen, and it may come as a surprise to some how this popular anime series managed to do so. In 2017, the live-action film adaptation of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable” premiered in Japan, focusing on Josuke Higashikata and the tranquil town of Morioh. Interestingly, a precursor to this release was an original anime movie based on “Phantom Blood“, which unfortunately faded into obscurity after a short theatrical run. As of late, it has been confirmed that another film based on “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” is in development, and if you’re a dedicated fan of the Joestar family, this new movie might not be what you expect.

The long-running success of the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise can be attributed to the unwavering commitment of its creator Hirohiko Araki. Since its inception in the 1980s, Araki has remained loyal to the Joestar family lineage, crafting each new chapter of the Stand series around descendants of the original protagonist, Jonathan Joestar. In the latest installment, Araki introduced a new tale featuring siblings Jodio and Dragona, who employ their Stands for daring heists aimed at ensuring their mother’s financial stability. With twenty chapters already released in this storyline, it seems that Araki is paving the way for more adventures in the world of JoJOLands for years to come.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure’s Next Movie

In a recent social media announcement, the sound director of every season of the anime adaptation of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” Yoshikazu Iwanami, made an exciting revelation for fans of the Stand series. He disclosed that three episodes from the “Golden Wind” arc will be screening in movie theaters, featuring some of the most significant installments of Giorno Giovanna’s narrative. Although fans may feel slightly disappointed since this won’t include new content or mark the beginning of a new season, witnessing Giorno’s biggest battles on the big screen is certainly worth watching.

In simpler terms, Iwanami’s post indicates they have chosen episodes 27, 28, and 38 for broadcast. We’ll need to be patient a bit longer to learn when and where these episodes will be shown. Although this announcement doesn’t guarantee that the Silver Screen Adventure is coming to North America, it’s still possible that the Joestars could appear on screens in the Western region.

Anime Compilation Movies Are Big Business

It’s hardly unexpected that the Joestars are getting their own compilation movie, given the triumphs that similar anime productions have experienced lately. The most prominent instance is undoubtedly Demon Slayer, consistently releasing compilation films which combine season endings and beginnings. Building on the success of Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the highest-grossing anime film ever, Tanjiro and the Demon Slayer Corps are planning to make a comeback on the big screen with fresh movies that will round off the series by delving into the Infinity Castle Arc.

Regarding the future of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure”, the only officially confirmed anime project is the compilation film, Golden Wind. Fans of the Joestars have been eagerly waiting since the end of Stone Ocean, hoping that David Production will produce a new season, likely based on Steel Ball Run – considered one of the franchise’s best storylines. Although nothing has been officially announced, it seems logical that “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” might explore this narrative in the future. The storyline revolves around Johnny Joestar and his horse race across North America, promising an exciting spectacle on screen.
