The Joestars will lead their own anime adaptation again in the upcoming “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run,” which was confirmed this year at JOJODay. However, some of its previous main characters are still making appearances in other anime series. In a recent episode of one of 2025’s most popular new anime adaptations, Jotaro Kujo from Stardust Crusaders made an appearance, giving another studio the chance to bring the Joestar character to life. Fortunately, the studio did a great job portraying the anime protagonist as shown in the latest clip.
The anime adaptation of “Witch Watch,” launched in April this year, has taken off like a rocket and gained immense popularity through its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump. The show’s lead character criticizes side character Tenryu Kiyomiya due to his unusual obsession with his hat. Surprisingly, Kiyomiya makes a nod to the iconic JoJo character, Jotaro Kujo, by likening his predicament to Jotaro’s. Interestingly, “Witch Watch” even incorporates the full appearance of Jotaro in an unexpected crossover, which is more common for David Production than Bibury Animation Studios. Here’s a link where you can watch the crossover scene yourself.
In episode 10 of Witch Watch, they continually mentioned Tenryu Kiyomiya, whose hand was perpetually attached to his hat, much like the unique bond between Jotaro Kujo’s hat and hair. This connection is explained as analogous to the way Jotaro’s hair and hat behave together.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Watch
In a scenario where popular series like “My Hero Academia”, “Jujutsu Kaisen”, “Kaiju No. 8” and “One Piece” have reached their conclusions, leaving an empty space in Weekly Shonen Jump, the stage is set for newcomers to step up and make a significant impact. One such candidate is “Witch Watch”, a series that debuted in 2021 from creator Kenta Shinohara. This first season of its anime can be streamed on platforms like Crunchyroll, Netflix, and Hulu, ensuring that fans have multiple options to immerse themselves in the tale of Nico Wakatsuki and keep up with this potential game-changer in the shonen genre.
Regarding JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, it remains unclear which streaming service will air Steel Ball Run. Netflix was where Stone Ocean, featuring Jolyne Cujoh’s story, was streamed. Fortunately, the next installment of the Joestar family story will see David Production re-entering the franchise as they have been involved in animating the series since the recent adaptation of Phantom Blood began over a decade ago. Wherever the tale of Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli unfolds, the resurgence of the Stand-centric series is anticipated to be a significant moment in the anime community, given that creator Hirohiko Araki has been releasing new manga chapters under the title The JOJOLands.
