As I delve deeper into the captivating chronicles of Kate Gosselin and her brood, I find myself utterly amazed by their rapid journey through life. It seems like just yesterday when the sextuplets were celebrating their first Christmas together, all smiles and adorable innocence. Fast forward to now, they’re turning 14! How is that even possible?
Jon Gosselin is hoping that son Collin will feel like one of eight again soon.
20-year-old Collin, a member of the “Jon & Kate Plus 8” family, has been distanced from his family which includes his twin sisters Mady and Cara, as well as four sextuplets – Alexis, Aaden, Leah, and Joel, and their mother Kate Gosselin, since 2018 when he and his sister Hannah, also 20, decided to live with their father. However, Jon remains hopeful that one day Collin might reconcile with his siblings.
Jon explained to Us Weekly in an October 16th interview, “It goes both ways.” In other words, he has extended an olive branch, so let’s hope it’s reciprocated.
47-year-old individual also verified that Hannah maintains contact with her family members, and expressed hope for rebuilding relationships with his other kids in the future.
He mentioned, “Whenever I’m in New York or any other place, I make an effort to connect with my twins and seek some excitement. Hopefully, one day it will just occur naturally, but only time will tell. We frequently discuss this topic, and with the holidays approaching, perhaps that occasion will take place.
At the moment, I find myself immersed in the company of Collin and Hannah. As a teenager, when I gained custody of them, my primary focus was to foster their independence. In other words, I’ve been working diligently to help them stand on their own two feet.
He clarified, “I had predicted they’d receive inheritances, also known as trust funds. I wanted to ensure they were grown-up and prepared for managing the financial windfall from their TV appearances.
Nevertheless, Jon motivated the duo to secure employment and explore the globe, an advice they eagerly followed. He takes great pride in their self-reliance, as they’ve successfully embarked on their global adventures and stand strong on their own.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but feel a deep connection with Collin and his partner, Stephanie Lebo. They both expressed their longing for Hannah and Collin significantly whenever they’re apart. Intriguingly, Collin unveiled that he had joined the Marines, only to be honorably discharged later on. Now, he’s back in the academic world, pursuing his education at Penn State.
For quite some time, Jon has been open about his strained relationships with six of his kids, and he attributes this rift to the actions of Kate.
The 47-year-old expressed, during an appearance on The Domenick Nati Show in July, that it might be a case of parental alienation: “It seems like you’re influencing someone.
He commented, “Certain individuals feel an intense need for solitude, and as such, they may resort to any measures, or even utilize their resources, such as family members, to prevent others from spending time with the other parent.

2024 marked Mother’s Day, two days following the 20th birthday of the sextuplets from a previous relationship. On this day, Kate paid tribute to her four children who reside with her: Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah.
She posted on Instagram, “Nope, no high schoolers here anymore! Happy 20th birthday, my cherished darlings! I adore you!” followed by the caption, “Who feels old? Me too! #TwentyYearsOld #It’sAPICKLE.
Hannah shared new pics of herself on her and the other sextuplet’s 20th birthday May 10.
On to the next chapter! The sextuplet graduated from high school in 2023.
Jon posted a photo of Collin and Hannah, the sextuplets, celebrating their high school graduation in 2023, following many years since they’d lived with him.

2019 marked the end of our grand #15 celebration! We celebrated the whole day, starting with a present at 6:30 am before school. I’m incredibly grateful for my ‘little ones’, it’s hard to believe they’re already 15! Every day I’m amazed by their growth, and I’m so proud of the admirable traits that are blossoming as they approach adulthood.

Jon Gosselin posted on Instagram, expressing his joy as he celebrated the 15th birthdays of Hannah, Collin, Alexis, Aaden, Joel, and Leah. “I can hardly believe it! Time is flying!” he wrote, alongside a photo with Hannah and Collin. He expressed his love for them all and wished them an exceptional birthday, hoping they would have a fantastic time celebrating today and throughout the weekend. Sending love always, from Dad.
In 2018, Kate expressed her astonishment on social media when her daughter Leah said, “It’s only 12 days until we turn 14, Mom.” She found it hard to believe because she thought Leah was too young for that. However, Leah replied, “Well, I guess I am small. Are you sure I’m not turning 11 or 12?” Kate was certain about her birth and confirmed Leah’s age. Despite their growth, they will always be her babies, and she loves them deeply.
Kate Gosselin expressed disbelief by saying, “I can hardly imagine it, but they just turned 13!” in her Instagram post as she celebrated their significant birthday.
Rewind to 2014 when Kate and her children found themselves visiting Alaska.
In addition, Kate Gosselin took her identical twins, Cara Gosselin and Mady Gosselin, on a visit to New York City back in 2014, which included a stay at the Manhattan Hotel.
