Jonathan Bailey is more of a sentimental man these days.

Furthermore, during the Los Angeles premiere of the movie on November 9th, the actor from Wicked shared that his time spent creating this enchanting production has actually returned him to where he started.

Jonathan shared that the production was deeply ingrained in his childhood and family experiences. He recalled watching it with his grandparents, and now he’s eagerly looking forward to returning to London so he can watch it again with his 93-year-old grandmother. He expressed this during an interview with Justin Sylvester and Zuri Hall on the red carpet at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion.

It turns out that the movie has captured the hearts of even his youngest family members, as Jonathan pointed out, saying, “I’ve watched it with my younger relatives already.” In this instance, he specifically mentioned enjoying it with a niece in Sydney.

The 36-year-old actor, who shares screen time with Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Bowen Yang, Ethan Slater, and others in this film, was thrilled earlier about getting the part and how profoundly it influenced his future career path.

He excitedly shared with Ariana during their interview for V Magazine that this role is like a long-held dream coming true. He first fell in love with the soundtrack when he was 15, and it made a significant impact on him and popular culture. The unique blend of synthesizers, full orchestra, and syncopation particularly stood out to him.

But as I stepped onto those breathtaking sets, I realized that my expectations were far surpassed.
