JonBenét Ramsey’s Dad Issues Rare Plea to Police 28 Years After Murder

JonBenét Ramsey’s Dad Issues Rare Plea to Police 28 Years After Murder

As a dedicated and empathetic observer of the world of true crime, I find myself deeply moved by the plight of John Ramsey, the tireless father who continues to seek justice for his beloved daughter, JonBenét Ramsey. The passage of almost three decades since her tragic death has done little to dim the light that this remarkable young girl shone in our collective consciousness, or to quell the burning desire for answers that grips John and the rest of her family.

JonBenét Ramsey’s family remains desperate for answers.

Over two decades since the murder of JonBenét Ramsey at just 6 years old, her father, John Ramsey, is urging law enforcement to pursue a DNA lead he believes could crack the case open. As per John, the authorities are not moving forward with testing genetic material found on the homemade garrote used to strangle JonBenét and other evidence from the crime scene in 1996.

In a conversation with People, the elderly individual expressed his plea: “We’re asking the police to actively participate.” He explained, “Modern DNA laboratories have shown interest in assisting and are confident that they can advance this case further with their advanced techniques.

He clarified that the head of the Boulder police department holds authority. Only when he requests assistance, can others intervene to aid him in resolving a crime.

For John, he feels it’s a simple thing the family is asking for. “We’re not asking them to do anything weird,” he added. “Just do your job. Test the DNA.”

TopMob News has reached out to Boulder police for comment but has not yet hear back.

As a lifestyle advisor speaking directly, I must share that on several occasions, I’ve found myself discussing what some claim to be unverified evidence, regarding the case of John – the sole surviving parent of JonBenét Ramsey, following the passing of his wife, Patsy, in 2006.

In the spirit of transparency, as I shared with True Crime News last September, “I am puzzled about why they didn’t test [the evidence] initially. To my understanding, it remains untested up until now. If they are conducting tests and choosing not to inform me, that’s commendable, but I have no reason to assume this is the case.

TopMob News contacted the Boulder Police Department regarding John’s assertions back then, yet they couldn’t provide a comment because the investigation into JonBenét’s case remains open and active, preventing them from answering detailed questions about their actions or inactions.

For nearly three decades now, since JonBenét was discovered sexually assaulted, brutally beaten and strangled with a garrote in her family’s home on the day after Christmas – just hours after her mother had phoned the police claiming that her daughter had been abducted – this case has fascinated the nation. It has led to numerous TV documentaries aimed at revealing the truth behind the mystery.

In the forthcoming Netflix documentary series titled “Cold Case: Who Killed JonBenét Ramsey“, the handling of the case by law enforcement and the media will take center stage during the investigation.

According to a statement from Netflix, the Boulder, Colorado police department, with limited experience in homicide investigations, swiftly pointed their suspicion towards JonBenét’s family as the prime suspects. This action fueled intense media scrutiny and biased reporting, transforming the case into a national frenzy. Despite the passage of 28 years, the intrigue surrounding her murder persists, and the unsolved case of JonBenét Ramsey continues to captivate.

One possible paraphrase for “the mishandling of the case by law enforcement and the media” could be “how the police and media handled the situation poorly.

Following a query from TopMob News about the upcoming docuseries, the Boulder Police Department chose not to provide comments since the investigation into JonBenét’s case is still ongoing and classified as an active homicide probe.

Previously, Boulder Police Chief Maris Herold underscored their dedication to the case in a December press statement, stating, “We will persistently follow up on every lead and investigate technological breakthroughs to uncover the person responsible for JonBenét’s murder.

Despite the public attention on the case, no one was ever charged in connection with her death.

And in the years since, JonBenét’s family continues to mourn.

In his conversation with True Crime News, John shared, “Every day, I find myself reflecting on her. Her photo is saved on my phone as a constant reminder that she’s somehow connected to me, in a manner that I don’t quite grasp or fully comprehend.
