At present, Hazelight Studios is deeply engrossed in the upcoming release of their title, “Split Fiction.” However, it’s hard to forget the remarkable 2021 game, “It Takes Two,” which continues to resonate. Could there be a sequel to this cooperative platformer in our future? Given that Hazelight Studios is known for pursuing fresh and innovative concepts, it’s possible, but can we ever expect a follow-up to “It Takes Two”?
Interestingly, when asked about the potential for a sequel to one of his games, Fares didn’t flatly deny it. In an interview with MinnMax, he mentioned that if he had to choose, he would pick “It Takes Two”. While it’s not guaranteed, it doesn’t seem like creating a sequel is entirely out of the question either.
“Who knows, man? You never know the future at Hazelight,” he said.
Since its release in 2021, “It Takes Two” has sold more than 20 million units globally, suggesting a sizable fanbase eager for a sequel. Although the possibility of a follow-up is uncertain, Hazelight and Fares’ nonchalant attitude towards it offers hope to those clamoring for… let’s call it perhaps, “It Takes Three”.
In the meantime, Split Fiction releases for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 6.
