Josh Duhamel isn’t asking for much this Father’s Day.
Indeed, the graduate from Las Vegas cherishes nothing more than spending some precious moments with his sons – Axl Jack Duhamel, aged 11 (with ex-spouse Fergie), and Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, who is 17 months old (with current spouse Audra Mari).
In an exclusive chat with Francesca Amiker from TopMob News, Josh shared that they would be at their cabin. He expressed his desire to spend the entire day with them, stating that this was what mattered most to him.
For a 52-year-old, whose job requires a lot of time, having the opportunity to connect with his children becomes particularly significant.
He stated that the most challenging aspect for him is finding equilibrium amidst his busy schedule since he has numerous professional commitments. Essentially, it’s about prioritizing self-reminders to understand that this balance is crucial, if not the utmost priority in his life.
After all, Josh noted that Axl and Shepherd are likely to follow his lead in life.
I’m all about modeling the right behavior,” I shared, “it’s more than just showing them love and guidance. It’s about how I carry myself too, because they’re always observing me. That’s the wisdom I gleaned from my father.
In my everyday life, I strive to embody the principles I advocate for, and one way I do this is by contributing to my community. For example, I recently teamed up with Bobcat to donate essential equipment to Fire Station 88 in Los Angeles as a token of appreciation for their tireless efforts during the wildfires that swept through our city earlier this year.
He expressed his immense pride and gratitude for the tireless efforts of our local firefighters, stating that everyone living here recognizes their invaluable role within our community.
Apart from that, he demonstrates this principle in his shared parenting journey with Fergie, a relationship that ended in 2017 after eight years of marriage. Their divorce was finalized two years later. Since then, he has referred to her as an “extraordinary woman” and expressed admiration for her kindness towards his new spouse, whom he married in 2022.
He mentioned on The Jess Cagle Show on SiriusXM in September 2023 that she had accepted Audra into her home. He added, “Things could have turned out much more severe. That’s the point, you never truly predict the outcomes of such situations.
But it certainly helped that Josh was so sure of his future with Audra.
