Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Brings Back Gojo & Sukuna With New Art After Series Finale

Even though I bid farewell to the captivating world of Jujutsu Kaisen last year as its climactic battle against Sukuna unfolded in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, the mastermind behind this extraordinary tale hasn’t let go. In a heartwarming gesture, they continue to sketch delightful scenes featuring Satoru Gojo, Yuji Itadori, and even the enigmatic Sukuna. The final two volumes of the series were released in December, adding an epilogue set post-finale events as a cherished bonus for fans. Yet, despite this heartwarming conclusion, it seems our beloved creator still cherishes every moment they spent within the realm of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Gege Akutami, the mastermind behind the “Jujutsu Kaisen” series, has unveiled unique new drawings featuring Gojo, Yuji, and Sukuna (as noticed by @Go_Jover on platform X). These sketches offer fans a final glimpse of these characters after the series concludes. Although “Jujutsu Kaisen” may have an animated future ahead, these creator-drawn images will be the sole source for viewing these characters in manga style as we move forward into the future.

Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Brings Back Gojo & Sukuna

Although fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have recently seen Yuji and Sukuna since the manga concluded, it’s been quite some time since they last witnessed Gojo in action. Even though Gojo initially served as a mentor to guide Yuji through the complexities of Jujutsu Sorcery at the beginning of the series, his role significantly changed later on as he took a backseat for most of the final arcs. This allowed Yuji and the remaining fighters to take charge in Gojo’s absence.

Later, when Gojo reappears in the storyline, it’s been quite a while. Fans are treated to a showdown between Gojo and Sukuna, marking the first instance where we witness their full potential against an equally powerful adversary. However, this encounter also turns out to be the last of its kind as the series was soon revealed to be nearing its final arc, hurtling towards its grand conclusion.

What’s Next for Jujutsu Kaisen?

Although “Jujutsu Kaisen” concluded its run last year, the anime isn’t saying goodbye just yet. News about “Jujutsu Kaisen” Season 3 broke out following the conclusion of the second season, but a specific release date for the upcoming episodes is still under wraps. The production process for this new season has been shrouded in mystery, and it remains uncertain whether Studio MAPPA will be involved again, along with other key staff members from the previous season.

In other words, it’s been made clear that Season 3 of “Jujutsu Kaisen” will commence by adapting the Culling Game arc from Gege Akutami’s comic series. This storyline continues right where the Shibuya Incident ended, and our protagonist Yuji is now thrust into a lethal tournament. Not only are there newly-introduced Cursed Spirits to contend with, but also resurrected sorcerers from the Heian era who have been reincarnated in new bodies. With plenty of action ahead, fans can’t wait to see how it unfolds!
