As a die-hard Jujutsu Kaisen fan who has followed the series since its inception, I can confidently say that Gege Akutami has truly outdone himself with this emotional tribute to the fallen characters of the series. The art, particularly Gojo’s, is a poignant reminder of the high stakes and the deep emotional resonance that this story carries.
Gege Akutami, the mind behind “Jujutsu Kaisen”, wasn’t hesitant about eliminating major characters when it came to his supernatural shonen universe. In the latest season of the anime adaptation, the Shibuya Incident Arc was a fierce battle that resulted in both heroes and villains being knocked out, much like bowling pins, for the sake of Japan’s future. Earlier this year, Akutami concluded the much-loved series, but similar to Kohei Horikoshi of “My Hero Academia”, the mangaka isn’t done yet when it comes to developing his characters. In a fresh tribute, the artist has revisited the deceased members of Jujutsu Tech once more.
Heads up! If you haven’t read the manga and prefer to avoid spoilers about the deaths of major characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, beware as we delve deep into potential plot-revealing territory. In the anime adaptation’s second season, characters like Nanami, Mahito, and Nobara faced tragic ends, with Nobara returning later on in the final chapters following an extended absence. To make matters more intense, the creator Akutami was ready to sacrifice beloved heroes such as Gojo and Choso during the climactic battle, demonstrating that no character is invulnerable when confronting supernatural perils at Jujutsu Tech. Despite some controversy surrounding the last chapter of the manga, artist Gege has returned not only to provide new illustrations but also to further develop the story’s conclusion.

RIP To The Sorcerers We Met Along The Way
To mark the climax of the popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, its shonen franchise unveiled fresh comic strip advertisements in Japan. In these illustrations, Gege Akutami showcased new artwork featuring Nanami, Choso, and Gojo respectively. Although none of these characters are resurrected in the final chapter of the manga, the readers were treated to an incredibly joyful ending for Yuji ITadori and his remaining comrades. After the demise of Sukuna, the ruler of curses, a promising future is on the horizon for both Jujutsu Tech and the world.

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Anime Future
Although the manga concluded in 2024, there’s still plenty to anticipate from the anime adaptation, such as additional seasons and movies. At this year’s Jump Festa event, exciting updates were shared for Jujutsu Kaisen, including a new compilation film that delves into Gojo and Geto’s past during the Hidden Inventory Arc. Furthermore, art previews were unveiled for the upcoming third season, which promises to be filled with content from the “Culling Game” arc.
In the Shibuya Incident Arc, things took a turn for the worse for Yuji Itadori when Geto started meddling. Gojo has been ensnared within the Prison Realm and Jujutsu Tech seeks Yuji’s demise due to the chaos caused by Sukuna. Though Yuji is evading capture, he’ll receive aid from an unforeseen ally introduced in season two. However, the reappearance of Yuta Okkotsu won’t bode well for our shonen hero.
