In a groundbreaking shift for the year, the second season of “Jujutsu Kaisen” revolutionized the anime landscape as Studio MAPPA delved into both the series’ past (Hidden Inventory Arc) and its intense present (Shibuya Incident). Unsurprisingly, the production team swiftly confirmed that a third season is underway, with plans to adapt the storyline called The Culling Game. Despite the passage of time since season two ended, “Jujutsu Kaisen’s” anime continues to make significant achievements, even surpassing its manga’s grand finale last year.
Studio MAPPA designed two distinctive openings to take us through both the past and present of Jujutsu Tech for both the Hidden Inventory Arc and the Shibuya Incident Arc in season two. Fans of anime were introduced to Gojo and Geto’s origin story in the first arc of season two, as their friendship turned sour due to the terrifying events they encountered. The Hidden Inventory Arc’s intro alone has amassed over 100 million views on Jujutsu Kaisen’s Official YouTube channel, demonstrating that there is still a strong interest in the supernatural shonen series.

The opening theme for #Kitanitatsuya, titled #Ao no Sumika (#The Blue Hut), beautifully captures the irreplaceable blue of youth. It’s a lively and exhilarating piece of music that pairs perfectly with the visuals. I highly recommend giving it a listen!

Jujutsu Kaisen’s Season Three Debut
Excitedly speaking as a fan, I can’t help but express my eagerness for the third season of “Jujutsu Kaisen.” This upcoming season promises to delve deeply into the Culling Game, an intriguing tournament orchestrated by Suguru Geto during the climax of the Shibuya Incident Arc. With Sukuna’s rampage in season two causing an explosion of curses and curse energy wielders worldwide, Yujiro finds himself pursued by friends and enemies alike.
The anticipation for this return is palpable within the anime community, given the massive death toll we witnessed in season two’s events in Shibuya. Although no specific release date has been announced yet for “Jujutsu Kaisen,” fans are keeping their hopes high that it will arrive sooner rather than later.
The manga series “Jujutsu Kaisen” concluded last year, wrapping up the tales of Yuji and his companions, as crafted by its creator Gege Akutami. Given the plotlines in the comic books, there’s a possibility that the anime might get another season beyond season three, but at this moment, it’s hard to predict for certain. Due to the fights shown after the Shibuya Incident, fans of Jujutsu Tech should brace themselves for some significant character departures. With Studio MAPPA currently working on several large projects, the release date for season three remains uncertain, although it seems unlikely that we’ll see Jujutsu Tech again this year.
