Jujutsu Kaisen Timeskip Gives One Hero A Fate Worse Than Death

In a surprising twist, the popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen, known for its captivating storyline, has come back with an exclusive follow-up chapter set beyond the conclusion of the initial narrative. A glimpse into a future time skip in this continuation unveiled a dismal and solitary destiny for one of the Jujutsu Sorcerers. The original run of Jujutsu Kaisen concluded with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine during Fall 2024, but series creator Gege Akutami decided to add a unique twist to the final volume of the series. This additional chapter, included in the last manga volume released in Japan last December, gave fans an insight into the lives of characters post the original ending.

In the original finale of “Jujutsu Kaisen”, numerous mysteries about the wider world remained unresolved, and there were also questions about what would happen to the characters in the future. However, a new epilogue has been added which shows that two characters found happiness by forming a family together. Yet, Panda experiences one of the most dismal fates possible as he’s stuck living for an extended period with no capacity to truly move or communicate.

What Happened to Panda in Jujutsu Kaisen?

Previously, in Jujutsu Kaisen, Panda was defeated by Hajime Kashimo. He lost two of his body cores during the battle and shrunk dramatically as a result. Since then, he has been kept within the Gojo Clan’s storage. Following Satoru Gojo’s death in combat against Sukuna, Yuta Okkotsu assumed the position of acting head of the Gojo Clan. This revelation was made in the special epilogue included in the final volume of Jujutsu Kaisen.

In the past, Panda was kept in a storage area, and one day, Yuta’s grandchildren stumbled upon him. Although he can no longer move independently, he manages to utter a few words when one of the kids makes a derogatory comment towards him. This suggests that despite his immobility, he remains alert to his surroundings. Unfortunately, since Masamichi Yaga is no longer present, there seems to be no solution for any damage that may have occurred during the fight with Kashimo. Therefore, Panda appears to be destined to spend a long time alone in storage.

Is This Jujutsu Kaisen’s Worst Ending?

Characters in Jujutsu Kaisen have faced fates that some might consider more severe, given the numerous lives lost during these battles. However, it’s challenging to envision a bleaker outcome than what Panda experienced. Unique within the series as an Abrupt-Mutation Cursed Corpse, Panda stood out from the rest. His self-awareness and autonomy were evident, despite being crafted by Yaga. He was not merely a weapon but a vital component of both Yuta’s and Yuji’s larger teams.

Oh, the thought of my story, left untouched for decades, collecting dust in some storage corner while I’m still alive and kicking, is just heart-wrenching. It feels like a cruel twist of fate for a character who has so much more to offer. This world can be brutal sometimes, especially when it comes to the treatment of characters like me.

For Panda, this seems like an added insult to injury. After all, he’s been forgotten by everyone else as they move on, one by one. It’s as if they’ve poured salt into a wound that refuses to heal, leaving him to linger in obscurity. It’s a fate that feels unfair and unjust, especially for a character like Panda who deserves so much more.
