Julianne Hough is sharing her love.

Overjoyed by the recent announcement of Brooks Laich’s fiancée, Katrín Tanja Davídsdóttir, being pregnant and preparing for their first child, I couldn’t help but share a heartfelt note to celebrate this wonderful news!

The Dancing with the Stars host congratulated Brooks and Katrín, “Wishing you both well as you grow your family. This new addition is already cherished.

The joyful expressions on Brooks’ and Katrín’s faces, captured in a slideshow from December 2024 when they announced their engagement, clearly validate Julianne’s statement. In the picture, they are proudly displaying an ultrasound image.

According to the caption of their May 4 post, “We’re overjoyed to share our biggest blessing. Our baby, Laich, is due this autumn. We can hardly wait to welcome you, our precious child!

Katrín, the previous CrossFit Games champion hailing from Iceland, also spared a moment to laud Brooks as he gears up for his upcoming endeavor.

She announced on her Instagram story, ‘He’s going to be a father!’ accompanied by a picture of Brooks leaping over an ultrasound image. ‘My entire heart. I adore this man immensely. The fortunate baby will have him as a dad.

Regarding Julianne, it’s no secret that she has maintained a cordial relationship with her ex, Brooks, and his fiancée, Katrín. Not only did she extend congratulations to them on social media when they got engaged, but she also shared delightfully about bumping into them at a mutual friend’s wedding in the past.

On The Jamie Kern Lima Show in September, Julianne reminisced about an encounter she had in the past. She recounted that her ex-husband, who divorced her in 2022 following a two-year separation, was there with his new partner. Strikingly, she expressed that this moment held immense beauty for her. At this point in time, Julianne feels as though she’s just starting anew, brimming with wisdom, insight, empathy, and understanding of the possibilities life has to offer.

But nevertheless, Julianne knows everything happened for a reason.

She expressed, “Now that I look back, I wish we could have approached our discussion with more maturity and understanding earlier on. Perhaps things might have turned out differently, but I believe everything unfolded as it was meant to.

During the same discussion, she further clarified that her separation from Brooks, aged 41, was primarily due to the individual transformations and life changes they were both experiencing, as well as their personal growth.

Julianne clarified, ‘I began transforming into a more feminine person, and with that change came others. I found myself evolving, adapting, and reevaluating my own beliefs.’

During this time, she commented about Brooks, “My former partner was undergoing a period of contraction. He’d been released from hockey and was experiencing a shift in identity. This was a phase of growth for me, but a narrowing for him, and our perspectives were not aligning. I believe we lacked the maturity to find common ground.

But nevertheless, Julianne knows everything happened for a reason.

Reflecting on our dialogue, I can’t help but wish we could have approached things with more wisdom and understanding earlier. Perhaps if we had done so, the result might have been different. However, looking back, I believe every event unfolded as it was meant to.
