Julianne Hough’s Shocking Dating Goal Change!

Julianne Hough is waltzing away from the pressure of finding the one.

As a lifestyle aficionado, I’ve recently taken a moment to reflect on my romantic journey and the evolution it’s undergoing in this fresh, new year. Much like a dancer refining their steps, I too am learning to redefine my expectations when it comes to love and connection.

During an exclusive interview with TopMob News at Christian Siriano’s fashion show at the New York Fashion Week on February 6th, Julianne shared, ‘I’ve been quite deliberate about what I share and what I welcome into my life, hoping to appeal to it in return.’ However, she added playfully, ‘But I must confess, I’ve sort of let go of that plan.’

Her easygoing approach to life has already shown positive results, as the 36-year-old, who parted ways with ex Brooks Laich in 2022 after five years of marriage, mentioned that “the past month has been quite enjoyable”.

It felt like a refreshing blast from the past, shifting me back to my carefree, joyous self instead of being bogged down by seriousness,” I found myself saying. “At times, when we focus too much, we might lose sight of the bigger picture, so I decided to embrace playfulness and fun.

Regarding the kind of partner she’s aiming to draw in? The actress from Safe Haven jokingly stated, “Someone incredibly attractive.

Nevertheless, it seems that Julianne, who stirred speculation about a romantic connection with Tanner Courtad from the Bachelorette back in December, isn’t hastily diving into a new relationship at this time. Previously, she made it clear where romance stands on her list of priorities.

She shared with People magazine in 2023 that she’s keeping an open heart and going along with the changing seasons while being deeply engaged with Dancing With the Stars. However, she mentioned that even though her heart is prepared, she isn’t intentionally seeking anything new at the moment.

Even though she hasn’t found her ideal partner as of yet, she’s still delighted to witness others experiencing love. For instance, her heartfelt message to Brooks upon his engagement with CrossFit athlete Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir in December.

She expressed her congratulations in the comments under the engagement announcement. I’m overjoyed for you two as you embark on this stunning new phase of your lives together.

She added, “Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless adventures.”

When it came to Julianne Hough’s dogs Lexi and Harley, it was evident she adored them more than anything on Earth, stating “my girls mean more to me than anything on this planet!” Unfortunately, these Cavalier King Charles Spaniels passed away in September 2019, leaving fans puzzled about the cause. However, Julianne only expressed her sorrow.

Months later, she penned on Instagram, “I’ve never known a love like ours. I miss you. I love you forever. Now You Are Free.” It wasn’t until five years later that Julianne disclosed they were taken by coyotes during an episode of The Jamie Kern Lima Show in August 2024.

“I woke up before my phone even rang, and I knew,” she said on the show. “I picked up the phone, and my assistant at the time was just screaming.” Despite having gates and no previous coyote encounters in her yard, Julianne expressed gratitude that Lexi and Harley were together and that their passing was quick. She managed to recover their bodies.

Their deaths transpired during a challenging period for Julianne. In her own words, she had separated from husband Brooks Laich, parted ways with her longtime assistant, and was preparing KINRGY for Oprah Winfrey’s 2020 tour.

However, Lexi and Harley remain etched in her heart. A year later, in 2023, she welcomed a new dog named Sunny into her life. In a 2024 post, she wrote, “Lexi & Harley would have loved and played with you everyday, and I know that they sent you to me, only when I was ready to open my heart and love again – you cracked me open sweetheart.

Despite officially parting ways in May 2020, following their divorce a short while later, Julianne indicated that she and Brooks had been encountering difficulties for some time. On The Jamie Kern Lima Show, she explained, “We were questioning whether it was working or not.” She clarified, “We’re going our separate ways.”

Julianne and Brooks ignited dating speculations in 2014 and exchanged vows three years afterwards. Regarding their relationship, she stated, “I threw myself into the relationship completely, and it was fantastic. And I must say that at that time in my life, it was exactly what I needed.” She went on to describe Brooks as a source of stability and security for her inner child.

This dynamic provided her with healing. As she embarked on this personal journey, she evolved into a more mature woman. “As I started exploring this path, I began to listen to my own voice more—not the 10-year-old voice that was making decisions unconsciously,” she shared.

Through this process, Julianne gained self-awareness. She later added, “As this happened, I truly started changing and shifting my beliefs.

In an interview with Women’s Health in 2019, the star of Safe Haven, Julianne, recounted telling her partner Brooks, “‘You know I’m not strictly heterosexual, right?'” She further explained that he was taken aback and asked for clarification, to which she responded, “I’m not, but I choose to be with you.”

Julianne doesn’t place much emphasis on labels. On The Jamie Kern Lima Show, she expressed that coming out is a profoundly vulnerable and empowering experience. She explained, “For me, it wasn’t about being straight or gay or bisexual or queer. It was more about discovering what love is and I love people. I don’t know what I’m attracted to, but I choose you.”

As her self-discovery journey unfolded, Julianne gained a deeper understanding of how she connects with others. She added, “That is the beauty of the love I was beginning to experience by seeing people. Because I think I had been able to remove a layer of protection and instead of being so internalized, I was starting to see people and their hearts and their essence in a way that I realized, ‘Wow, I love people. And I don’t know if it’s sexual attraction or emotional attraction, but I’m just seeing people.’ And that was such a beautiful revelation.

In a 2024 episode of “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen”, the host of “Dancing With the Stars” expressed agreement with guest Mickey Guyton who felt that Bobby Bones shouldn’t have won season 27 in 2018. Julianne stated, “I actually agree with you… He was not the best dancer.” However, Bobby didn’t seem offended by her remark, acknowledging on Instagram later that month that he wasn’t the best dancer and had tried hard throughout the show.

When Julianne began dating Ryan Seacrest in 2010, she entered a world full of opulence, exclusive events, and lavish dates. In an August 2024 episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast “Armchair Expert”, she described it as being swept off her feet and experiencing things she didn’t even know existed. However, she felt insecure about people thinking she was with him for the wrong reasons, so she started playing down her role.

Julianne admitted that she adapted to fit whatever role Ryan needed her to play, fearing that she wasn’t truly in love but merely enjoyed being loved. She added that she may have loved every person she dated due to this feeling of being loved, rather than true romantic love.

When Julianne and Ryan parted ways in 2013, some people in Brentwood and the entertainment industry questioned her decision. She explained that they were surprised because her life was already set up for her, but she felt that she hadn’t built it herself and wanted to create something of her own, proving her worth and feeling pride in her accomplishments.

Julianne began her career in country music with great success. Her debut single “Will You Dance With Me” and album, titled after her name, were huge hits, reaching number one on the Billboard Top Country Album chart and featuring the hit “That Song In My Head”. She also toured with Brad Paisley and won awards at the Academy of Country Music Awards. However, despite releasing another single in 2010, she never released a second album. In an interview on Ryan Seacrest’s show in August 2024, Julianne explained that she felt if she wasn’t number one, she was losing, and this competitive nature led her to pivot to acting instead. This decision to focus on movies was her biggest regret, as she never fully pursued her music career after that.

In the viral video from 2020 at the World Economic Forum, people might remember Julianne Hough having a dramatic reaction during an energy session. Four years later, the ‘Grease Live!’ star discussed this event. She said on the August 2024 episode of ‘Off the Vine With Kaitlyn Bristowe’, ‘I’ve had some unexplainable experiences and people have accused me of going off the deep end. Some even thought I was being possessed or having an exorcism when that viral energy work session happened, but now, thankfully, more people understand what it is and the importance of energy.’

The individual shared their initial encounter, which occurred when they were approximately 4 years old, was with a neighbor in our local cul-de-sac. This was something they had never spoken about publicly before in an interview. They explained that this period of their life was particularly confusing due to the Mormon culture’s emphasis on perfection and the appearance of having everything under control. At that time, there were few consequences for what had transpired.

Julianne mentioned that she would not disclose these events to her parents until much later in her life. She explained, “I pushed it aside, and other incidents happened during my childhood. It wasn’t until I was around 15 years old that I began sharing those experiences. However, it wasn’t until recently, as I delved deeper into this work, that I remembered the incident at age 4, which I had suppressed from birth to about age 10, essentially, as I completely disassociated myself from it ever happening.”

At the beginning of her book titled “Everything We Never Knew,” she dedicated it to her younger self who “did whatever was necessary to survive and protect herself, ultimately reaching the place she is today.

She said to Jamie Kern, ‘There are countless individuals who simply do whatever is necessary to make ends meet.’ She continued, ‘We should appreciate this aspect of ourselves and recognize that, as adults, we understand each other. You’re not alone now.’

Despite always embracing her body, Julianne can’t help but recall the harsh criticisms she faced during a movie production. She opened up about this struggle in a 2017 interview with Redbook, explaining that her self-confidence took a hit during middle school when she started comparing herself to others. The situation worsened on set where she was constantly told she was too fat, despite being at her slimmest. To escape this self-consciousness, Julianne resorts to doing something outlandish or silly, reminding her of the carefree spirit she had as a child before these experiences.

She strives to maintain a healthy relationship with her body, disregarding what others may say. As she expressed in a 2016 interview with People, navigating body image issues in the public eye can be challenging, but she tries her best to avoid self-criticism when faced with negative comments. At the end of the day, as long as she’s happy and feels good about herself, that’s all that truly matters.
