Julie Chrisley Debuts New Blonde Hair After Prison Release

Julie Chrisley is back to being blonde.

After spending two years in prison, and letting her roots naturally turn from brunette to gray, the star of “Chrisley Knows Best” once again dyed her hair to its distinctive golden honey shade.

In a picture posted by a fan on TikTok on June 7th, it was evident that Julie sported a shoulder-length blonde hairstyle while shopping at Target. For her laid-back outing, she chose a navy chiffon top paired with light blue denims and brown sandals.

On May 28, Julie was freed from prison following a pardon granted by President Donald Trump, which also applied to her husband, Todd Chrisley. This act of clemency came over two years after they were convicted on charges related to wire fraud, attempting to commit bank fraud, and defrauding the United States. Initially, Todd received a sentence of 12 years in prison, while Julie was ordered to serve seven years.

Savannah Chrisley, Todd and Julie’s 27-year-old daughter, strongly advocated for their freedom during their imprisonment. She collaborated with Alice Marie Johnson, a champion of criminal justice reform who was granted clemency by former President Trump in 2018 after being publicly supported for release by Kim Kardashian, to present her parents’ case to the White House.

So, what did Julie and Todd do on the first night of freedom? A family dinner.

On the latest episode of my beloved Unlocked podcast (June 3), I proudly dished up a mouthwatering feast! Steaks, pastas, salads, potatoes – you name it, it was there! My dear parents couldn’t hide their delight as they savored every bite.

The following day, the star of “Growing Up Chrisley” (who took custody of brother Grayson Chrisley, aged 19, and niece Chloe Chrisley, 12, when their parents were imprisoned) stated that she experienced all the family’s significant moments together with her mother.

The following morning, the “Growing Up Chrisley” star (who took charge of brother Grayson Chrisley, 19, and niece Chloe Chrisley, 12, as their parents were in prison) shared that she went through all the family’s milestones alongside her mother.

On the next day, the “Growing Up Chrisley” star (who became the guardian of brother Grayson Chrisley, 19, and niece Chloe Chrisley, 12, due to their parents being imprisoned) mentioned that she experienced all the family’s important events with her mom.

Savannah stated, “I showed her my Instagram while we were lying on my bed, bringing her up-to-date with all the posts, videos, and happenings since she’s been away. It was quite fascinating to observe her responses and keep her informed about life.

Regarding Julie’s new hairstyle, it might be connected to her relationship with Chase Chrisley, who is their 28-year-old son.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in May, shortly after Julie was released, he mentioned that her hair had become darker. He then expressed his desire for her to return to being platinum blonde by saying, “Mama, it’s time for us to go back to platinum blonde.

For a complete guide on the Chrisley family tree, keep reading…

Todd Chrisley is the head of the Chrisley family, having been born in Georgia in April 1969 and raised in South Carolina. He had a daughter Lindsie in 1989 and a son Kyle in 1991 with his first wife Teresa Terry before their separation. Subsequently, he married Julie Chrisley (born in South Carolina in January 1973) in 1996. Together they expanded their family with the births of Chase, Savannah, and Grayson, and the adoption of Kyle’s daughter Chloe.

Initially, Todd made most of his fortune through real estate before venturing into reality TV. Julie was employed at a bank when she began dating Todd. Their lives were documented in the show “Chrisley Knows Best,” which ran from 2014 to 2023 and spawned spin-offs like “Growing Up Chrisley” and “What’s Cooking With Julie?” as well as other media projects, including family members’ podcasts.

In 2022, Todd and Julie were found guilty of fraud and tax offenses, receiving sentences of 12 and seven years in prison respectively (with him being detained in Florida and her in Kentucky). However, they maintained their innocence. In May 2025, President Donald Trump granted them a pardon, and they were released from prison.

Lindsie, born in September 1989, is the eldest daughter of Todd, having been married to Teresa. She pursued her education at Georgia State University, where she encountered and eventually married Will Campbell in 2012. Their son, Jackson, was born that same year. Two years later, the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best” debuted, during which viewers witnessed the strained relationship between Todd and Will. Lindsie and Will divorced in 2016, with her departing the show a year later.

Over the subsequent years, a public rift developed within the family, eventually healing in 2022 through crossover episodes of their podcasts. However, this reconciliation was short-lived, as Lindsie revealed on her podcast “The Southern Tea” in March 2025 that she hasn’t seen her father for some time, and later confirmed the same estrangement from her siblings.

In an April 2025 episode of Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra’s podcast “Cate & Ty Break It Down”, Lindsie expressed that despite living similar lives and sharing the same space, she and her family do not necessarily agree or align. She stated, “We can coexist without necessarily having to like or support each other.”

Following Julie and Todd’s pardon in May 2025, Lindsie posted on Instagram Stories, “With God, all things are possible.”

Kyle, born in August 1991, is Todd’s oldest son from his previous marriage to Teresa. In November 2012, he became a father to daughter Chloe, who was born to his ex-partner Angela Johnson. However, in 2016, Chloe was adopted by Todd and Julie.

Kyle appeared only in the first season of Chrisley Knows Best (with a brief appearance in 2021), but his past legal issues, turbulent family relationships (which involved periods of estrangement and reconciliation), and public struggles with personal matters like mental health and addiction have made news. He openly discussed his recovery journey on social media, stating in a 2019 Facebook post that he has been sober.

In 2021, Kyle married Ashley Nelson and became a stepfather to her children Haiden and Mackenzie. As for his relationship with Todd and Julie, he expressed his desire to rebuild their bond after they return from prison. In an interview with TopMob News in May 2025, he said, “I know they are eager to get home and be with family, and I remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible.

Todd’s firstborn child, Chase, was born to him and Julie in June 1996. Besides starring alongside his family on ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ and ‘Growing Up Chrisley’ with his sister Savannah from 2019 to 2022, he previously had an engagement with Emmy Medders. However, after a series of getting back together and separating, they parted ways in 2023. Later that year, Chase started dating Jodi Laine Fournerat. Photos of the couple can frequently be found on his Instagram account, along with pictures of him and grandma Nanny Faye Chrisley.

Following the incarceration of his parents, Chase spoke about the bond between him and his siblings. In 2023, he told ‘Extra’ that they had grown closer. “We’ve definitely gotten a lot closer,” he said. “When you get hit with something like this, I feel like a lot of people either separate and go their own ways or they cling together, which is how we were raised. We’ve clung together and we’re still fighting.”

In January 2025, Chase was arrested in Atlanta on a simple battery charge for allegedly becoming intoxicated and slapping a bar manager after being asked to leave, according to police records obtained by TopMob News. His lawyers later stated that the incident had been exaggerated. “He did not assault anyone,” they added. “Chase was trying to close out his tab and leave. We will be independently investigating the situation.”

Apart from his reality TV stardom, Chase is also an entrepreneur, having launched a candle brand and roofing company.

In August 1997, Todd and Julie became parents to their daughter, Savannah. During her early years, she participated in beauty pageants, winning the title of Miss Tennessee Teen USA in 2016 and competing for the Miss Teen USA crown. Her journey didn’t stop there as she appeared on various reality and competition shows like Chrisley Knows Best, Growing Up Chrisley, The Masked Singer, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and even hosted a podcast named Unlocked. Apart from her career in entertainment, Savannah is also a real estate agent in Tennessee and the founder of Good Girl RX.

In her personal life, she got engaged to hockey player Nic Kerdiles in 2019 but broke up the following year. Sadly, he passed away after a motorcycle accident in 2023. Afterward, she dated Robert Shiver; however, they parted ways in April 2025, concluding about two years together. During the time when her parents, Todd and Julie, were imprisoned, Savannah took custody of her siblings, Grayson and Chloe, and fought for their release.

At the 2024 Republican National Convention, she emotionally expressed, “72600019 and 72601019 are not just numbers to me; they represent my parents’ identification numbers in our federal prison system.”

Following Trump’s pardon, Todd and Julie were released from prison, and Savannah shared heartwarming videos of their homecoming, captioned “Reunited and it feels so good.

Grayson serves as the youngest child of Todd and Julie. He made his debut in the public eye when the show “Chrisley Knows Best” was launched in 2014, eight years after his birth in May 2006. Currently, he’s a student at the University of Alabama, where he sometimes experiences recognition.

During an episode of Savannah’s podcast “Unlocked” in February 2025, Grayson described the attention as “crazy,” stating it was more than he had ever experienced on campus.

Following the imprisonment of Julie and Todd, Savannah took custody of both Grayson and Chloe. In a post on Instagram in July 2023, she expressed her role as their guardian: “I’m not their mom or dad; I’m their sister. I get to shower them with love and guide them through life.” She further added that being a bonus parent is challenging but incredibly rewarding.

The relationship between Savannah and Grayson has grown stronger over time. In an Instagram post for his 18th birthday in May 2024, she wrote: “Many people assume I saved him, but the truth is… YOU saved ME.

Todd and Julie became Chloe’s grandparents when Kyle, their son, had a child with Angela Johnson in November 2012, which they later adopted four years later. Julie expressed her affection for Chloe on Instagram in February 2018, writing, “My heart! This child brings so much joy to our family. What did we do without you?” The reality show Chrisley Knows Best documented Todd and Julie raising Chloe, who is also known as CoCo within the family. However, when the couple went to prison, Savannah assumed guardianship. On Chloe’s 11th birthday in November 2023, Savannah wrote on Instagram, “Watching her grow has been the biggest blessing of my life… she has QUITE the personality! I wish I had her humor. I wish I had her carefree spirit. I wish I had her heart. She is everything that I hope to be one day! There is not a day goes by where she doesn’t teach me something new. Because of her… we are all better people! I love you sweet girl! KEEP SHINING! NEVER GIVE UP! And ALWAYS KNOW… I AM HERE FOR YOU.” After Trump granted Todd and Julie pardons, Savannah shared Chloe’s reaction on a May 2025 episode of News Nation, stating that Chloe was still in shock and hesitant to get her hopes up, but she was excited about the prospect of reuniting with her father.

Faye Chrisley, affectionately known as “Nanny”, is Todd’s mother. In a heartfelt Instagram post for Mother’s Day in 2021, Todd expressed his deep love and gratitude towards her, stating that she fills his heart with love, hope, faith, and confidence.

Born in September 1944, Nanny was raised in South Carolina. She married army veteran Gene Chrisley, and together they had three sons: Todd, Randy, and Derrick (who unfortunately passed away as a baby). Tragically, Gene also passed away in 2012.

On the reality show “Chrisley Knows Best”, Nanny endeared herself to viewers with her wit, fun times with her sister Frances (who sadly passed away in 2022), her dating escapades, and her wise advice. Whether she was enjoying a night out at the casino, sipping wine, or spending time with family, Nanny showed everyone how to have a good time.

However, life hasn’t always been easy for Nanny. In addition to Todd and Julie’s legal troubles, Nanny was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. But two years later, she announced that she had successfully overcome her health battle.

In a 2023 episode of Lindsie’s podcast “The Southern Tea”, Nanny shared that she is now in remission and has been able to resume her daily activities.

Nanny has always faced life’s challenges with resilience, as she once said on Savannah’s podcast “Unlocked”: “The world doesn’t always give you a good deck of cards to play with, so you play with them the best you can. You get up, brush yourself off and keep going.”
