Although the complete list of stories in the upcoming Junji Ito anthology remains undisclosed, the announcement has disclosed the plotlines for two of the chilling narratives. The post kicks off with an invitation to explore where evil dwells: “Step into a new collection of Junji Ito’s terrifying tales!” It promises haunting stories that range from the eerie sounds reverberating within a germophobe’s household, to extraordinary supernatural occurrences. While it’s true that “supernatural oddities” might describe every story by Junji Ito, we can’t wait to witness the artist returning to the themes that have endeared him to readers once more.

In addition to sharing some spine-tingling tales within the latest release, VIZ Media’s announcement also unveiled the spine-chilling artwork for the book. Reminiscent of any masterful Junji Ito manga, the cover for Moan: Junji Ito Story Collection is both stunning and unsettling. Some of Moan: Junji Ito Story Collection‘s Stories Have Already Been Revealed

Despite VIZ Media’s efforts to maintain the secrets within Junji Ito’s upcoming book, a few tales have been disclosed. This is due to the revelation by VIZ Media itself, as pointed out by a fan on the r/junjiito subreddit. Apparently, Ito’s latest behind-the-scenes book titled “Uncanny: The Origins of Fear” has revealed the titles of some new stories.

Based on the leaked snapshot, it’s indicated that the upcoming collection titled “Moan” will feature a variety of stories such as “The Supernatural Transfer Student,” the title story “Moan“, “Blood Orb Grove,” “Flesh-Colored Mystery,” “Near-miss,” and “Under the Ground.” A few of these tales, including “The Supernatural Transfer Student” and “Near-miss”, have previously been published in other compilations. However, it seems that “Moan” and “Blood Orb Grove” are brand new narratives. Unfortunately, a specific launch date for “Moan: Junji Ito Story Collection” has yet to be disclosed.
