Jurassic World Rebirth Teases Chaotic Dinosaur Action and Hidden Secrets

The upcoming sci-fi action film, set in the same universe, is expected to deliver even more of the thrilling and spellbinding dinosaur encounters that the Jurassic Park series has been recognized for over its long history. Universal Pictures fueled excitement for the new project by revealing a sneak peek at the process behind creating the formidable creatures.

Recently, the official source unveiled a behind-the-scenes video detailing how director Gareth Edwards and his creative crew brought the dinosaurs to vivid life on screen. In this footage, Edwards emphasized the raw, instinctual characteristics of the dinosaurs, explaining that he and his team aimed to convey these primal traits in their portrayal of the beasts. The video also offers glimpses into various scenes from the movie, such as the tense moments when [name] and her special ops squad flee from the pursuing dinosaurs.

Furthermore, it scrutinizes the visual effects, with VFX supervisor David Vickery stating that Edwards was meticulous about the designs of every T. rex and new creature showcased. Johansson commended Edwards for his imaginative perspective, saying he “has a clear mental image of the entire film” and is a “distinctive storyteller.”

Jonathan Bailey, playing the role of Dr. Henry Loomis, the paleontologist, commended Edwards’ exceptional skills in visual effects, expressing confidence in his ability to design terrifying dinosaurs. Additionally, Edwards mentioned his intention to make the creatures appear somewhat grotesque, ominous, and sinister. Meanwhile, Johansson emphasized that the film presents an ongoing sense of danger and risk, with every scene exuding a state of peril.

Rebirth Follows Up the Widely Panned Jurassic World Dominion

Five years following the events of Dominion, I find myself drawn into an extraordinary adventure in Rebirth, where Earth has grown largely unsuitable for dinosaurs. These magnificent creatures now inhabit a lush, tropical paradise reminiscent of their former thriving habitats. In this exhilarating tale, I’m honored to be part of an elite team, alongside Loomis and the charismatic Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali), who have been recruited by a clandestine pharmaceutical company. Our mission? To infiltrate a forbidden island in the Atlantic Ocean, home to the original Jurassic Park research facility, brimming with untold secrets and breathtaking surprises.

The team needs to discover and collect samples from the three biggest ancient creatures – one from land, one from the sea, and one from the sky. These creatures hold a groundbreaking drug that could potentially save many human lives. Yet, Bennett and his colleagues understand that the island is inhabited by distorted and failed dinosaur experiments, causing chaos. Among them is a grotesque, otherworldly T-Rex.

Edwards is widely known for his work in monster movies, having directed films like Monsters and Godzilla that were both praised by critics and audiences. David Koepp, who wrote the original Jurassic Park screenplay, works alongside him. The upcoming sequel, titled Jurassic World: Dominion, boasts performances from Ed Skrein, Rupert Friend, and Luna Blaise. It aims to win back critical acclaim compared to Dominion, which received a 29% score on Rotten Tomatoes, marking a low point for the Jurassic Park series.

Nevertheless, Dominion saw significant financial success, surpassing the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office.

Contrary to popular belief, the concept of Rebirth being reminiscent of the original Jurassic Park was not included in the initial Jurassic Park project.

Jurassic World Rebirth opens in theaters on July 2.
