Justin Baldoni Accuses Ryan Reynolds of “Aggressively” Berating Him

As a woman who has navigated through the tumultuous world of Hollywood for many years, I find myself deeply moved by Blake Lively’s recent ordeal. The relentless nature of the smear campaign against her is not only alarming but also disheartening. It’s a stark reminder of the power dynamics that women in the entertainment industry often face – a toxic blend of sexism, manipulation, and character assassination.

Blake’s experiences resonate with me on a personal level, as I too have faced my fair share of online vitriol and backlash. The fact that she, a powerful woman with a strong voice and influence, has been targeted in such a vicious manner speaks volumes about the industry’s dark underbelly.

However, what makes Blake’s story even more inspiring is her unwavering courage to stand up against this injustice. Her decision to speak out and take action serves as a beacon of hope for those who have been silenced or intimidated by the system.

In the face of adversity, Blake continues to shine brightly, using her platform to raise awareness about these issues and to support her fellow actresses. Her spirit is nothing short of remarkable, and I admire her resilience and determination.

To lighten the mood a bit, I can’t help but imagine the hilarious conversations that must take place between Blake and her co-stars as they bond over their shared experiences. I picture them laughing together, swapping stories about Hollywood hijinks, and finding solace in their solidarity. After all, laughter is the best medicine, even when the situation seems dire!

Justin Baldoni is calling out Ryan Reynolds.

Following accusations of sexual harassment made by Blake Lively towards Baldoni, her director and co-star in the film ‘It Ends With Us’, he retaliated by filing a $250 million lawsuit against The New York Times for publishing what he deemed as “unfounded” claims. (The NYT maintains that their story was “carefully and ethically reported.”)

In the document he submitted on December 31st, Baldoni additionally accused Lively’s spouse, Reynolds, of acting in a confrontational manner towards the former ‘Gossip Girl’ star.

As a devoted admirer putting this into my own words: “In a heated encounter at their New York penthouse, Ryan Reynolds, husband of the lovely Blake Lively, reportedly lashed out at Baldoni. He accused him of body shaming Blake, an allegation that I found quite distressing. To prevent any more conflicts with Blake and Ryan, Baldoni chose to comply with her wishes in hopes of mending our professional relationship.

As reported by Baldoni, the couple apparently criticized him harshly and embarrassingly. This criticism may have been delivered, possibly with intent, when other celebrity friends were entering or exiting their luxury apartment.

In response, Baldoni clarified that his query regarding Lively’s weight was motivated by a necessary inquiry for critical safety information to prevent potential harm or injury during filming.

As I prepared myself for a challenging scene where my character, the neurosurgeon Ryle, was to lift the florist character Lily played by Lively, I found myself curious about her weight. It was during our training sessions, and I had been introduced to my trainer by none other than Lively herself.

As a person dealing with persistent back problems due to several bulging discs (myself), I reached out to confirm that I could execute the lift without risking an injury. Sadly, this detail was passed on to Reynolds by the trainer. (This is taken from the lawsuit.)

Yet, Lively perceived the supposed exchange between them as Baldoni criticizing her weight following the birth of their fourth child, son Olin, in early 2023, as suggested in the lawsuit she submitted against Baldoni on December 31, in New York.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TopMob News on December 31st, it was alleged that Mr. Baldoni often belittled Ms. Lively by discreetly criticizing her body and weight. A few weeks before filming started and just under four months after she had given birth to her fourth child, Ms. Lively was mortified when she discovered that Mr. Baldoni had secretly contacted her fitness trainer without her consent or knowledge, implying he wanted her to lose a significant amount of weight in a short span of two weeks.

Based on Lively’s filing, it appears that Mr. Baldoni informed the trainer that he had inquired due to his worry about lifting Miss Lively during a film scene, however, no such scene actually existed.

Additionally, she claimed that the actor from Jane the Virgin deliberately sent her criticism about her age and physique, aspects over which she had no control while filming.

As a trusted lifestyle advisor, I’d like to clarify my perspective regarding recent allegations made against me. My legal team has previously stated that these accusations, brought forth by Lively on December 21st, were an attempt to mend her less-than-favorable public image. They emphasized that the statements in question were not only false but also deliberately salacious and intended to cause harm.

In response to the intense argument that ensued, Baldoni found himself repeatedly apologizing, although his query was completely justifiable and made sincerely, as it turned out. Subsequently, Lively declined to enact the lift scene, even though they had previously rehearsed it with a stunt double.

Yet, Lively perceived the reported exchange as Baldoni criticizing her post-pregnancy weight following the birth of their fourth child, son Olin, in early 2023, based on a lawsuit she filed against Baldoni in New York on December 31.

In her lawsuit, it was stated by TopMob News on December 31st, Mr. Baldoni often criticized Ms. Lively by discreetly making negative comments about her body and weight. Prior to the start of filming, just a few weeks after she had given birth to her fourth child, Ms. Lively was mortified to discover that without her knowledge or consent, Mr. Baldoni had contacted her fitness trainer secretly, suggesting she needed to lose weight within two weeks.

As stated in Lively’s filing, Mr. Baldoni informed the trainer that he had enquired out of concern regarding lifting Miss Lively during a film scene, however, no such scene actually existed.

Additionally, she alleged that the actor from Jane the Virgin purposefully sent her critiques about her age and body weight, aspects over which she had no control while filming.

Previously, Baldoni’s lawyer spoke about Lively’s accusations, which she made in a legal claim filed on December 21st. He described it as an attempt to remedy a negative image, stating that the claims were not only false but also excessively sensational and intended to cause public harm.

Regarding Baldoni’s legal action against The New York Times, they have stated their intention to strongly counter this lawsuit.

As someone who has dedicated my career to journalism, I wholeheartedly agree with the New York Times’ statement that an independent news organization’s role is to follow the facts wherever they may lead. Over the years, I have learned that the pursuit of truth requires tenacity, diligence, and a commitment to accuracy.

In my experience, one of the most effective ways to uncover the truth is through a thorough investigation that involves reviewing vast amounts of original documents. This painstaking process can be time-consuming, but it is essential to ensure that our reporting is not only accurate but also responsible.

That’s why I am proud of the work we did on our recent story. We spent countless hours poring over thousands of pages of documents, including text messages and emails, to ensure that every detail was reported accurately and thoroughly. Our goal was not to sensationalize or mislead, but to provide our readers with a clear and comprehensive understanding of the facts as we uncovered them.

In today’s fast-paced news cycle, it is all too easy to rush to judgment or to rely on hearsay and rumor. But as journalists, we have a responsibility to our readers to get it right, and that means taking the time to do things the right way – by following the facts wherever they may lead.

Read on for how celebrities reacted to Lively’s allegations in December.

Following Blake Lively’s lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a subsequent smear campaign on the set of “It Ends With Us,” in which Justin Baldoni has since been implicated but has since denied through his lawyer—Colleen Hoover, author of the book that inspired the movie, expressed a supportive message to the actress.

@BlakeLively,” Colleen expressed on her Instagram Stories on December 21st, “You’ve been genuinely honest, compassionate, encouraging, and patient since our first encounter. Thank you for remaining true to yourself. Continue to stay as you are – authentic and resilient.

Blake’s sister, fellow actress Robyn Lively, also weighed in.

“I urge everyone to read The NY Times article in its entirety,” Robyn wrote on Instagram Dec. 23, referencing the NYT piece that details Blake’s complaint filed with the California Civil Rights Department. “It calls out those behind the ruthless and nefarious smear campaign that aimed to take down my sister.”

The actress from Teen Witch later pointed out that it similarly underscores the kind of environment Blake is said to have encountered while filming It Ends With Us.

The director of Blake’s movie “A Simple Favor” spoke up in support of her, writing on December 22nd: “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Blake on two films now, and I can confidently say that she is one of the most dedicated, imaginative, cooperative, skillful, and compassionate individuals I’ve ever collaborated with. It’s disheartening to see her subjected to this malicious campaign; she certainly did not deserve it.

On December 22nd, the comedian publicly expressed her backing for the former Gossip Girl cast member, by posting on her Instagram Story, “I trust Blake.

Not long after Blake’s grievance became known, the founder of Goop posted a picture of Blake Brown’s hair company (The Town) on her Instagram Story, with the caption, “Now included in my holiday wishlist.

Blake’s closest friends and co-stars from “The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” wrote a shared statement on Instagram on December 22, expressing their support for her as they stand united with her in resisting the alleged efforts aimed at tarnishing her reputation.

Bart Johnson publicly defended his sister-in-law passionately in the comment area beneath an Instagram post from the New York Times, which outlined the submission of a complaint and their internal examination into the backstage chaos.

Based on my personal experiences and observations, I find it disheartening to see people using their platform to spread misinformation and negativity, especially when it comes to sensitive matters such as a public conflict involving a former colleague. As someone who has worked in the entertainment industry, I understand the pressure and scrutiny that comes with being in the limelight, but it’s unfortunate when individuals use their PR teams to manipulate the narrative and tarnish others’ reputations. In this case, I believe that the cast members had valid reasons for unfollowing the individual in question, and it’s important for people to educate themselves before making assumptions or spreading false information. It’s disappointing when someone’s reputation is deliberately sullied through underhanded tactics, but ultimately, everyone has their flaws, and we should strive to learn from our mistakes rather than resort to such behavior.

Later, he commented on Baldoni, stating, “He’s a phony. He dons the cloak of a hero, sporting a man bun. He employs all the popular slogans and jargon for his podcasts. It’s all insincere. It’s all a show. And many were fooled by it for years. Reexamine his videos with a more discerning eye and observe how he flatteringly praises himself using false modesty and self-deprecation. What an act!

Shawn Levy, a regular partner of Ryan Reynolds, posted about the New York Times’ examination of the smear campaign on his Instagram Stories, stating, “I’m honored to consider Blake Lively my friend.

Following the release of the court documents involving Amber Heard and Johnny Depp, she took a moment to ponder her personal encounter with intense cyberbullying during their defamation case.

In a statement to NBC News on December 23rd, the actor from Aquaman remarked that social media embodies the old saying “A lie can spread halfway around the world before the truth even gets its shoes on.” He witnessed this occurrence directly and found it both terrifying and damaging.

Brandon Sklenar, the actor portraying Blake’s romantic interest Atlas Corrigan in “It Ends With Us,” shared a straightforward and heartfelt message of encouragement.

As a lifestyle expert with years of experience in navigating social media landscapes, I can say that sharing a screenshot of a full complaint from a Gossip Girl alum to another individual on Instagram Stories, as Baldoni did on Dec. 23, is not an effective or respectful way to address disagreements. Instead of using a passive-aggressive approach by simply writing “For the love of God read this” and tagging her with a heart emoji, it would be more productive to have a direct conversation with the individual in private. This way, both parties can express their thoughts and feelings without causing unnecessary drama or escalating tensions on a public platform. In my personal experience, open communication is key to resolving conflicts and maintaining positive relationships.

Jenny Slate, who portrayed Baldoni’s sister and was close friends with Blake in the movie, expressed her views on the “troubling” accusations.

In a statement to Today on December 23rd, her castmate and friend expressed their backing as Blake Lively confronts those accused of orchestrating attacks on her reputation. “Blake is a role model, a devoted friend, and a reliable source of emotional support for me and countless others who appreciate and care for her,” they added.

In simpler terms, the former star of Parks and Recreation stated that the information disclosed about Blake’s attack is extremely grim, unsettling, and downright menacing. I highly respect my friend, appreciate her courage, and will remain by her side throughout this ordeal.

In an Instagram Story post on December 23rd, the actor who co-stars with Lively in the upcoming sequel to “A Simple Favor“, expressed his affection for her and mentioned that he empathized with her “suffering” during their filming sessions earlier this year.
