The debate over “It Ends With Us” involving Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively shows no signs of resolving quickly.
On the January 7th broadcast of “The Megyn Kelly Show”, the guest was Baldoni’s lawyer, Bryan Freedman. During the show, Kelly aired an alleged audio recording of Baldoni and the director expressing dissatisfaction about being overlooked at the New York premiere of their film “It Ends With Us” in August.
In a clip that doesn’t have a specified date, Baldoni recounts, “What should have been one of the most stunning career nights for me instead found me and my loved ones relegated to the basement for over an hour because I was not permitted to be visible.
It’s worth noting that the absence of the former Jane the Virgin cast member from any photos with Lively and the rest of their costars at the high-profile premiere event fueled speculation among fans about potential tension or strained relationships between them.
[Blake] kept me at a distance from her and the rest of the group, leading me away from the red carpet,” he explained further. “We ended up in the basement, which was where my closest friends and family were waiting for me. We all had a good laugh about the absurdity of the situation.
As a filmmaker myself, I found that the scene we were shooting – intended to brim with materialistic delight – instead compelled me to delve deeper into the essence of my passion for storytelling. This unexpected moment served as a poignant reminder of why I embarked on this creative journey in the first place.
In simpler terms, Baldoni told his team, “All of that unimportant stuff doesn’t matter at all. None of it.” He continued, “We’re not in this line of work for such trivial reasons like attending a premier and receiving accolades. That’s not what drives us, the three of us, to be part of this business.
He underscored that our work is driven by our passion as artists and our conviction in our craft. We strive to create artwork that resonates deeply with people, stirring their emotions and inspiring them, which is exactly what we have achieved.
Baldoni concluded his voice recording, as Kelly suggested it was only a segment from a larger piece, with an optimistic tone.
He expressed his conviction that the same path lies ahead for all of us, and that ultimately truth will triumph, accompanied by light and love’s victory.
Regarding the recently published audio, TopMob contacted Lively’s representative, who referenced an earlier statement criticizing Baldoni’s team for “further accusations” they allegedly directed towards their client.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to shed light on a common strategy often employed to divert attention from misconduct allegations: shifting blame onto the accuser. This can be done by insinuating they somehow invited or instigated the behavior, were mistaken about the intent, or even fabricated the story. Another tactic is to reframe the roles, implying that the alleged offender was actually the victim of some kind. It’s crucial to recognize these tactics and stand firm against them in the pursuit of truth and justice.
Since Lively lodged a lawsuit against Baldoni in California on December 21st, conflicts between them have escalated to court proceedings. By December 31st, she had filed a suit against Baldoni and his firm, alleging “extreme emotional distress.
On that very day, he initiated a libel lawsuit for 250 million dollars, targeting The New York Times, due to their coverage about a supposed smear campaign directed at Lively, following her accusations of sexual harassment towards him on set. (The New York Times have declared their intention to “aggressively counter the lawsuit.”)
His attorney has also since indicated plans to sue Lively.
In the midst of the ongoing legal disputes, I’ve been facing renewed criticisms from Baldoni and his associates, which I perceive as further assaults on me, the star of ‘A Simple Favor’.
In the heat of ongoing lawsuits, I find myself under fire again, this time by Baldoni and his followers. The allegations they’ve levied against me in ‘A Simple Favor’ feel like additional attacks on my reputation.
In simpler terms, they clarified on January 6th to TopMob News that this situation is not a dispute stemming from creative differences or a he-said-she-said scenario. Instead, the allegations in Lively’s original complaint are grave accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation.
In response to Lively’s initial claim on December 21st, Freedman, representing Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios, stated that these accusations were entirely untrue, excessively malicious, and designed specifically to cause harm and perpetuate a sensational story in the media.

Following Blake Lively’s lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and a subsequent smear campaign by Justin Baldoni during the filming of “It Ends With Us,” and his denial through his lawyer, Colleen Hoover, the author of the novel upon which the movie is based, extended a message to Ms. Lively.
On her Instagram Stories, December 21st, Colleen expressed, “@blakelively, you’ve been sincere, compassionate, encouraging, and understanding since our first encounter. I appreciate you just being you. Always remain authentic. Always stay strong.
Blake’s sister, fellow actress Robyn Lively, also weighed in.
Robyn shared on Instagram December 23rd, ‘Make sure to read the entire article in The NY Times.’ She was referring to the New York Times piece that exposes the cruel and malicious smear attempt targeting her sibling, which is highlighted in the article.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I’d like to share an interesting insight. The former star of Teen Witch pointed out that her personal experiences mirrored by Blake, which apparently unfolded on the set of It Ends With Us, serve as a poignant reminder of certain challenges actresses might face in Hollywood.
On December 22nd, the director of Blake’s movie “A Simple Favor” spoke up in support, stating, “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Blake on two films now, and I must say she is incredibly professional, creative, collaborative, talented, and kind. It’s unfortunate that she has been subjected to this smear campaign. I believe it’s appalling that she went through such a situation.
On December 22nd, the comedian expressed her backing for the former Gossip Girl star by posting on her Instagram Story, “I trust Blake.
Not long after Blake’s grievance became known, the creator of Goop posted a picture of Blake Brown’s hair company (from The Town) on her Instagram Story, captioning it as, “I’ve just added this to my Christmas wishlist.
Blake’s closest friends and co-stars from ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ published a unified statement on Instagram on December 22, expressing their support for her as she bravely battles against the alleged smear campaign aimed at tarnishing her reputation.
Bart Johnson publicly expressed a heartfelt support for his sister-in-law by commenting on an Instagram post from the New York Times, which discussed the filing of the case and their ongoing probe into the internal chaos.
According to the former star of High School Musical, who is wedded to Blake’s sister Robyn, complaints were submitted during the filming process. “This has been documented,” he wrote. “Before the public dispute erupted, the cast stopped following him for a reason. I encourage you to read this article before passing judgment. His PR team was exceptional, although their tactics were distasteful and efficient. To understand the full picture, read the article, their text message conversations, and his PR strategy to discredit her at any cost. Everyone has flaws, but the public was misled.
Later on, regarding Baldoni, he stated, “He’s a pretender. He dons the garb of a hero, sporting the man bun. He employs all the popular slogans and buzzwords for his podcasts. It’s all insincere. It’s a show. And many were deceived by it. For years. Reexamine his videos with a more discerning gaze and observe him offering himself self-congratulatory compliments and humble praise, all feigned modesty. What an act!
Shawn Levy, often teamed up with Ryan Reynolds, posted on his Instagram Stories about the New York Times probe into the defamatory campaign. He penned, “I’m honored to consider Blake Lively as my friend.
Following the release of the court documents involving Johnny Depp’s defamation case against me, I found myself pondering on my own journey navigating intense online backlash during our legal proceedings.
Or:
In the wake of Johnny Depp’s defamation trial becoming public knowledge, I have been reminiscing about my personal experience dealing with relentless hostility online throughout our court case.
The actor known for playing Aquaman stated to NBC News on December 23rd that social media closely embodies the old saying, “A lie can spread halfway across the globe while the truth is still putting on its shoes.” He personally witnessed this and found it both shocking and devastating.
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but share the heartfelt words of encouragement from Brandon Sklenar, who brought Atlas Corrigan, my beloved character from “It Ends With Us,” to life. His message was straightforward yet powerful.
On December 23rd, the former Gossip Girl star posted a screenshot of his full complaint against Baldoni on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by a link to the text. Over the link, he wrote, “Please, read this,” and added a heart emoticon while tagging her.
Jenny Slate, who portrayed Baldoni’s sibling and Blake’s close friend in the movie, expressed her opinions regarding the “troubling” accusations.
In a statement to Today on December 23rd, her co-star and friend expressed their backing as Blake Lively stands up against individuals accused of harming her reputation. Blake, they said, is not only a respected leader but also a faithful friend and an invaluable source of emotional support for many who are close to her.
The information uncovered concerning the assault on Blake is incredibly grim, unsettling, and entirely menacing, the former Parks and Recreation star emphasized. I applaud my friend, respect her courage, and pledge my support for her during this difficult time.
As an ardent admirer, I couldn’t help but feel a flutter of excitement when the charismatic star, who shares screen time with Lively in the highly-anticipated sequel to “A Simple Favor,” expressed his affection for her on Instagram Stories last December 23rd. He confided that he empathized with her “pain” we both experienced during our filming sessions earlier this year.
