Kacey Musgraves is pressing pause for a little bit.
The singer known as “Cardinal” disclosed that she’s currently healing following an injury sustained in an accident that occurred in Mexico.
Kacey, aged 36, posted an X-ray photo on her Instagram Story on June 19 with the caption, “So here I am in Mexico with a fractured rib.” She explained that during a rainy night, she slipped on some slippery tiles she didn’t notice while rushing to get towels. Fortunately, she didn’t hit her head, but she fell very hard on her left side of the ribcage and fractured the sixth rib.
She went on, emphasizing that this isn’t something to be taken lightly. She’s enduring a great deal of discomfort, and even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. Yet, she’s persevering and receiving good care.
Due to her discomfort causing her to avoid any form of physical exercise, she regrettably cannot participate in the live podcast recording in Nashville that was originally set for June 22. This event has been rescheduled to take place on September 18 instead.
She clarified that, unfortunately, she can’t make it back to Nashville for the @singforscience event with @paulstaments on Sunday at @theryman due to a lack of physical means to travel by plane. She’s been eagerly anticipating this event for months but has no other choice. She deeply regrets any inconvenience caused.
Showing her injury from a closer angle, Kacey revealed another X-ray of her chest area, labeling the broken rib segment as “painful.
Kacey’s injury arises during her summer tour series, which will carry on following the Independence Day break. Furthermore, during this U.S. tour run, she is expanding her performances into uncharted territories as well.
She shared with The Hollywood Reporter in April that she will be performing in Brazil for the first time during her September concert. She’s excited because the energy and fans in Brazil are unique compared to anywhere else. She mentioned that she’ll be playing at São Paulo’s Jaguariúna, which is a big deal since rodeos are quite popular in Brazil.
She mentioned that it’s fascinating to observe the global appreciation for country music, as true country music is less about where one resides and more about a particular mindset and spirit. Authentic country music stems from genuine emotions that every person experiences, regardless of their origin.

Hailey Bieber experienced one of the most frightening moments in her life when she encountered stroke-like symptoms during breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber, in March 2022. As she struggled to respond to Justin’s questions and couldn’t speak properly, her right face started drooping. Eventually, she managed to get a sentence out but was immediately taken to the hospital for a check-up.
The doctors discovered a small blood clot in Hailey’s brain, which they categorized as a TIA or temporary stroke. After further investigation at UCLA, it was found that she had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot traveled through this hole into her heart, escaped, and reached her brain causing the TIA.
Fortunately, Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure, and she is now feeling well.
In the same year Hailey went through a health crisis, Justin also faced one himself. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer announced he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which led to temporary paralysis of parts of his face and compelled him to postpone the rest of his Justice World Tour. In an Instagram video, Justin explained that this condition affected the nerve in his ear and facial nerves, causing facial paralysis. As viewers could see, one of his eyes was not blinking, he couldn’t smile on one side of his face, and his nostril wouldn’t move – thus, there was complete paralysis on one side of his face.
Remarkably, Justin shared with his followers that it had become increasingly difficult for him to eat. However, eventually, the paralysis subsided.
Hailey expressed optimism during a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America, stating that Justin was “doing really well.” She added that he was feeling much better after the scary and unexpected incident, but assured everyone that he would fully recover, and she was just grateful that he was alright.
Initially maintaining secrecy about his hospitalization in April 2023, Jamie Foxx eventually disclosed the ordeal he experienced. In his 2024 Netflix special titled “What Had Happened Was…”, he recounted the incident, saying, “One day in Atlanta, I was experiencing such a severe headache that I asked my friend for an aspirin. In this piece, she detailed a harrowing experience at the gym where a severe headache led to her being violently ill and realizing that her brain was damaged.
Subsequently, she was rushed to the hospital for a scan which revealed a life-threatening type of stroke called a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), caused by bleeding in the space surrounding the brain. The Emmy nominee further explained that she had an aneurysm, an arterial rupture.
She underwent immediate surgery to seal the aneurysm, describing the pain as unbearable. During her recovery, she experienced aphasia and found herself muttering incoherent words. A week later, the aphasia passed, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month’s stay.
However, a 2013 brain scan revealed that a growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. She recalled waking up from the procedure in pain, as it had failed. The doctors informed her that her chances of survival were precarious if they didn’t operate again, and this time they needed to access her brain through her skull.
Thankfully, she shared that she is now back to full health.
Snoop Dogg’s daughter, Cori Broadus, expresses her gratitude towards her family after experiencing a serious stroke in January 2024. When she informed them about the incident, everyone rushed to help her. “I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture,” she shared with TopMob News correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024. “Everyone came to my aid.”
However, due to additional health issues, Cori ended up staying in the hospital for a longer period than expected. She explained, “I could have been discharged after the stroke, but my lupus wasn’t doing well at the time. My kidneys were failing. There was a lot going on.”
Now, Cori is recovering well. She said, “I’m doing great. I just had to work on regaining some motor skills, but otherwise, I was fine.
In her twenties, Shailene Woodley’s health was not in the best shape. At one point, she experienced severe issues that included losing hearing, experiencing fatigue after short walks, and stomach pain from eating food. She was diagnosed with a complex mix of conditions by different doctors.
To find answers and relief, she decided to take a holistic approach and consulted both traditional medical professionals and independent healers. This quest for wellness took over a decade. Along the way, her physical discomfort led to fear of food, which in turn caused mental struggles such as body dysmorphia, confusion about identity, and feelings of insecurity and uncertainty regarding her body and self-image.
After addressing both her physical and mental health, Shailene is now feeling much better and is grateful for her improved state of wellness.
