The Sword Bearer Assassination Arc has already piqued my interest with its intriguing plot twists and intensifying action scenes.

Kagurabachi’s latest chapter has launched a fresh storyline within the manga series, positioning Chihiro Rokuhira for his initial significant battle in this new phase. As Takeru Hokazono’s Kagurabachi marks its first anniversary of publication with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, the manga is experiencing a surge in popularity, captivating readers with each new chapter release. With the third significant arc now underway, it’s an ideal moment to join the journey as Kagurabachi delves deeper into the lives of Enchanted Blade users.

Tasked with a significant undertaking, Chihiro has been assigned his next mission: ensuring the safety of all Enchanted Blade wielders, who are currently under threat by the enigmatic Hishaku group. This same organization was behind his father’s demise, so confronting them directly will bring him closer to achieving his ultimate objective. Kagurabachi: What Happens in Chapter 48?

In Chapter 48 of Kagurabachi, Chihiro and Hakuri accompany Yoji Uruha onto a train. We learned in the last chapter that Uruha is bound to an Enchanted Sword called Kumeyuri. The specific powers of this sword are yet unknown, but it’s clear that Uruha is in a vulnerable position right now. Chihiro must shield him from the Hishaku since when one binds with an Enchanted Blade, they forfeit their own magical abilities to harness its power. Consequently, Uruha can’t fend off the attacks of the sorcerers himself.

Uruha rapidly developed trust in Chihiro as he saw a resemblance between Chihiro and his father, whom Uruha respected deeply. Uruha shared that post-war, some members of Kamunabi started to betray Chihiro’s father and the Enchanted Blades, causing him to go into hiding. Thus, Uruha felt relieved when he learned through Chihiro that they both had enjoyed a peaceful life before Rokuhira was slain. However, not long after this revelation, a new adversary emerged on the scene.

Who Is Chihiro’s Next Opponent?

Given the superior weaponry the Hishaku possess and the limited countermeasures available to Chihiro and Kamunabi, it’s evident that they are at a disadvantage, necessitating a more strategic approach. Uruha remains unperturbed, relying on his past comrades, but it becomes apparent that all of them were swiftly defeated by the Hishaku, despite their initial strength. One member of the Hishaku seeks to provoke Uruha into a direct confrontation, and they devise a trap to take him off-guard. A new combatant named Hirohiko eagerly anticipates engaging in battle with them, regardless of the outcome.

Upon boarding the train, Hirohiko finds himself squaring off against Chihiro, who is armed and ready for battle using Enten. Given his past performances in the manga “Kagurabachi”, it appears that Hirohiko matches or possibly surpasses the strength of all opponents Chihiro has faced so far. Fortunately, you can follow along with the series as new chapters become available through Viz Media’s digital Shonen Jump library or Shueisha’s MangaPlus service.
