KAOS trailer gives first look at Billie Piper in Netflix series

As a lifelong enthusiast of mythology and a devoted admirer of the acting talents gracing our screens, I must say that the trailer for Netflix’s KAOS has left me utterly enthralled! The combination of Greek gods, led by the illustrious Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, with an ensemble cast featuring luminaries like Billie Piper, Suzy Eddie Izzard, and Janet McTeer, is a dream come true for this classic mythology aficionado.

A fresh trailer for Netflix’s show KAOS has been released, providing a glimpse into Jeff Goldblum’s portrayal of Zeus, the King of Gods, and introducing us to some of the additional actors in the upcoming series for the first time.

Besides Goldblum steering the ship, the trailer begins with a scene where Billie Piper’s mysterious and somewhat untidy character informs Riddy (Aurora Perrineau) that she will depart from her partner, Orpheus (Killian Scott), using the phrase “I’m going to leave him.”

Later on, Goldblum’s character Zeus confesses that he “must make destruction resonate beautifully,” and despite Dionysus (Nabhaan Rizwan) informing him that humans are kind, the King of the Gods appears indifferent to this fact.

Due to Riddy’s rebellion against the gods, it seems like she is swiftly being drawn into a grim situation, where she finds herself in a stark, monochrome world reminiscent of a movie set, with everyone putting on life vests to embark on a large vessel sailing towards an uncharted destination.

However, events become increasingly complex as it appears that the paths of Orpheus and Dionysus intersect in an unexpected manner, with Orpheus apparently firing at Dionysus on a sandy coast.

But Dionysus offers him a decision he wasn’t expecting: what if he could see his wife again?

It appears that soon, the sides will be clearly defined, much like a physical battlefield, as the populace confronts the Gods and their trusted lieutenants. Furthermore, with its title, the preview undeniably promises a joyously chaotic spectacle.

You can watch it for yourself below.

Additionally, the trailer provides brief looks at Suzy Eddie Izzard, Janet McTeer from Ozark, Leila Farzad of Better, and Cliff Curtis from Fear the Walking Dead, along with several other notable figures.

Absolutely, Piper is recognized for her performances in Doctor Who as Rose Tyler, I Hate Suzie, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, and Penny Dreadful. Recently, she appeared on our screens in Scoop, and she’ll soon be starring in the upcoming season of Wednesday on Netflix.

According to the official summary for Kaos, “Zeus, who has always reigned supreme as the king of the gods, hasn’t faced any significant challenges. However, this changes when he awakens one day and finds an unfamiliar crease on his forehead.”

“Due to the belief that it signals the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy predicting his demise, Zeus develops a nervous disorder: he becomes convinced that his downfall is imminent. As this anxiety takes over, the supreme deity, interpreting omens everywhere, begins to self-destruct in a potentially dangerous manner.”

“And he’s right to be worried. Zeus’s one time friend and now prisoner, Prometheus, is orchestrating a plan to bring him down. The plan involves three disparate humans, all of whom are totally unaware of their cosmic significance or the part they must play in saving the world. No pressure. (Some pressure.)”

In addition to David Thewlis from “Landscapers”, Rakie Ayola from “The Pact”, Stephen Dillane known for his role in “Game of Thrones”, Misia Butler from “Half Bad”, and Stanley Townsend who appeared in “The Current War” are also part of the outstanding cast for the Netflix series.

For several years, Charlie Covell, a well-known writer recognized for his work on The End of the F***ing World, has been developing an innovative take on Greek mythology.
