Kate Bush “very keen” to start work on new album – but also has a disappointing update for fans

As a long-time admirer and fan of Kate Bush’s enchanting music, I am absolutely thrilled to hear that she is eager to create new music. With her unique blend of storytelling, haunting melodies, and captivating performances, each of her albums has been a journey into an ethereal realm unlike any other.

Kate Bush has said she’s “very keen” to start work on a new album.

66-year-old Kate Bush, known for her hit song “Wuthering Heights,” has mostly avoided public attention in recent times. Her latest studio album, named “50 Words For Snow,” was released back in 2011.

On BBC Radio 4’s Today program last Friday (October 25th), Bush expressed having numerous thoughts and aspirations that she wishes to explore.

She mentioned how excited she was to re-enter her creative zone, as it’s been quite some time since she last visited.

Bush emphasized that each new piece of music she produces must be unique, similar to how distinct her previous albums are from one another.

2014 saw the announcement of Dame Barbara Bush’s initial live performances in over three decades. Tickets for all 22 shows were snapped up within just 15 minutes of release, indicating an overwhelming demand that has left her without a live performance since then.

Even though she’s excited about creating fresh tunes, Bush mentioned that she hasn’t quite reached the point where she feels comfortable returning to the stage, expressing: “I haven’t quite arrived there yet.

Though avoiding public attention for several years, Bush became acquainted with a fresh group of admirers in 2022. This was due to the frequent play of her 1985 song Running Up That Hill in the popular Netflix science fiction drama Stranger Things.

Due to a popular resurgence on TikTok, the song climbed to number one on the UK charts, 37 years after its initial release.

Regarding the renewed popularity of the tune, Bush commented on BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, “I assumed the song might garner a bit of interest. However, I never anticipated anything close to what we’re seeing now. It’s truly exhilarating!

She continued: “But it’s quite shocking really, isn’t it? I mean, the whole world’s gone mad.”

When host Emma Barnett inquired about the song’s interpretation for the newer listeners, Bush responded: “I prefer for listeners to hear a song and derive their own meaning from it.

Initially, the concept was penned down as if a man and a woman were exchanging roles, merely to experience life through someone else’s perspective.
