Katie Thurston’s Cancer Journey: Latest Biopsy Results Revealed!

Katie Thurston is sharing where she stands on her cancer journey.

A woman who graduated from Bachelor’s education and was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer in February, announced on March 24 that her physicians had detected suspicious spots on her liver. This has led them to temporarily halt her treatment regimen. If the liver lesions are indeed cancerous, she would then be classified as a stage 4 patient.

As a lifestyle expert, I’d like to share an update from me personally: Over the last two days, I’ve undergone some medical procedures that included biopsies on my breast, lymph nodes, and liver. Additionally, I had a port placement, which is essentially a device inserted beneath my skin for drawing blood samples and administering treatments. This information comes from the National Cancer Institute.

She went on to say, “At present, we’re holding off while we await the findings from the liver biopsy. This will help us decide whether I can stick to the current treatment strategy or if we need to adjust it instead.

In the interim, Katie is finding comfort in both her dog Charlie and her husband Jeff Arcuri, whom she recently married on March 22 just prior to starting treatment. She posted a snapshot of them resting together at home along with her update.

In simpler terms, Jeff expressed to Us Weekly during a joint interview with Katie on March 23, “I want to be there in the hospital with her and simply say, ‘My wife is here.’ There’s more strength in that statement, and I don’t want to miss out on any of this time with you.

The 36-year-old continued, “I just want to be everywhere with you as much as I can.”

Katie commented, “His heartfelt action of affirming ‘in sickness and in health’ demonstrates his commitment. It’s clear he intends to stick around, and he consistently does so in ways that never fail to astonish me.

As a passionate advocate, I too expressed my hope that my personal journey might serve as inspiration for fellow women, underscoring the fact that an increasing number of young women are grappling with breast cancer.

In some cases, doctors might reassure us by saying ‘You’re okay, you’re okay,’ but what I advise is for people to ask their doctors to document this in their records. This way, the doctor will likely respond promptly, ‘Alright, let’s conduct an examination,’ because, at the end of the day, it’s crucial that each individual advocates for their own health.

She added, “The common belief that only older individuals develop breast cancer is no longer valid, as I am a testament to this fact, and there are countless others. It’s important to note that many women serve as proof that this misconception is incorrect. I aspire for future advancements in early detection methods, such as lowering the mammogram age or making ultrasounds more accessible to all.

As Katie bravely fights her cancer, she wishes her experience might inspire other young women. She points out that cases of breast cancer among younger females are becoming more common.

In her appearance on the March 19th episode of The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast, she advised people to request that their doctors document any concerns they have about their health. She explained that when doctors dismiss symptoms due to age, saying “You’re fine, you’re fine,” it’s important for patients to take charge and push for further examination. In essence, she suggested being proactive in advocating for your own health care.

She went on to say, “The old belief that only older individuals develop breast cancer is no longer valid, as I am living evidence that this isn’t accurate, and there are countless others. It’s important to note that many women disprove this notion. I hope for a future where the age for mammograms decreases or ultrasounds become more readily available to all.
