Keanu Reeves “Is Not So Happy” With Constantine 2 Scripts According To Original Co-Star

It seems that Constantine 2 could be encountering some difficulties in terms of creativity, as one of the actors from the initial DC movie has mentioned that Keanu Reeves isn‘t entirely satisfied with the screenplay.

In a recent chat with The Direct, actor Peter Stormare (known for portraying Lucifer in the initial Constantine film) disclosed some fresh insights about the upcoming Constantine 2 sequel, focusing on Keanu Reeves’ sentiments towards the script evolution. As per Stormare, Reeves has expressed some reservations about the screenplay.

Since Keanu Reeves, who I’m quite familiar with, seems not so thrilled about the scripts coming from the studios for a Matrix sequel, there’s been a lot of give-and-take, due to the fact that… The original movie didn’t do well initially but turned into a cult classic and is now one of the biggest ever. However, the studios are pushing for action-packed sequences with cars flying in the air and people performing stunts, which doesn’t seem to align with what Reeves or the fans of the original want.

According to Keanu, he feels that ‘John Wick’ was a deeply spiritual film about both demons and ordinary people. He wanted to preserve this essence in any future projects. During our conversation, he expressed a desire to depict a character similar to God, dressed in black and resembling the Lucifer portrayed in the first movie. Since 12 years have passed, it will be challenging to perfectly recreate the original film. However, Keanu seems keen on making a sequel that closely mirrors the style of the initial movie.
