Kelly Stafford Reveals the Truth About Matthew Stafford’s Retirement Decision

Matthew Stafford hasn’t made his final throw just yet.

As a devoted follower, I’ve been hearing whispers about the Los Angeles Rams quarterback, who triumphantly guided his team to victory at the 2022 Super Bowl, considering retirement after wrapping up his 16th season in the NFL. However, his wife, Kelly Stafford, has shared that he harbors a desire to suit up and play once more.

At the close of each year, we have a discussion, as I shared with Francesca Amiker during an exclusive interview at TopMob News. He prefers it to be a collective choice, and in those moments, I gently remind him that this is his call. If I ever felt compelled for him to step down, I would communicate that, but for now, I want him to maintain the freedom to decide for himself.

The 35-year-old woman, who is blessed with twin girls Chandler and Sawyer (age 7), a son Hunter (age 6), and another son Tyler (age 4) with Matthew, made clear that no matter what decision he makes, his family will stand by him, offering their unwavering support.

Kelly emphasized, “I make it a point to tell him that our family is there for him, whatever choice he makes. I simply want to assure him, ‘You can count on us. Every decision you make is the right one. We’re going to have a fantastic time together, no matter what happens.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I must admit that I’m all for Matthew being around, but let me clarify my stance. Kelly Stafford, the charming host of the “Morning After with Kelly Stafford” podcast, is equally excited to have Matthew at home. However, when it comes to football games like the upcoming Kansas City Chiefs vs. Philadelphia Eagles match, she’s not just his cheerleader – she’s their family’s! With her partnership with Farm Rich and the anticipation of enjoying their scrumptious and hassle-free snacks and appetizers during the game, Kelly can’t wait to create those special moments with her loved ones.

She admitted honestly that retirement seemed appealing, “It does sound fantastic, I won’t deny it.” He’s been working tirelessly for 16 years. If I were to be truthful, there’s a part of me thinking, ‘Retirement could be enjoyable. Let’s explore what the next phase brings.’

Additionally, Kelly pointed out that Matthew seems to relish one position over being a quarterback, expressing it as, “He’s a father, and that might just be his most cherished role.

She clarified that he longs for his children during the sports season. Interestingly, they had just embarked on their initial romantic getaway together in Cabo for three days, but he kept expressing a need to return home to be with his kids.

Regardless, Kelly feels it will still be thrilling – similar to winning a Pick Sick Box from Farm Rich through their Instagram contest during the Big Game on February 9 – to support Matthew’s decision to delay retirement for now.

In the end, it’s his choice to make, and I’ll stand by it regardless, she stated. Moreover, considering how brilliantly he’s performing, one might wonder why he’d want to stop at this point.

As Kelly and Matthew gear up with Farm Rich for the big game, let’s delve into all the essential information before Super Bowl LIX kicks off.

Super Bowl Sunday kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST on Feb. 9.

The Big Game is heading to The Big Easy and taking place at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m excited to share that you won’t miss out on the Super Bowl action! You can tune in to FOX and FOX Deportes for the live telecast. If streaming is more your style, make a beeline for Tubi, the NFL app, or services like YouTube TV, Hulu + Live TV, and Fubo – these platforms are offering FOX’s broadcast of the game, as suggested by Fox Sports. Enjoy the big event!

In the National Football League (NFL), two titans from different conferences, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles, will square off in a highly-anticipated matchup – Super Bowl LIX. The NFL comprises 32 teams divided into two conferences: 16 each for the American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC). At the end of the season, the champions from these conferences meet to determine the overall champion for that year. This game serves as the culmination of the NFL season. The Kansas City Chiefs represent the AFC while the Philadelphia Eagles are part of the NFC.

As a die-hard football fan, there’s nothing more exhilarating than the thought of my favorite team hoisting the prestigious Vince Lombardi Trophy, named in honor of the legendary coach Vince Lombardi who led the Green Bay Packers to their first Super Bowl victory. The players, coaches, executives, and other key personnel all receive Super Bowl rings as a symbol of their hard-earned triumph.

This year, the Kansas City Chiefs are aiming for an unprecedented feat by winning their third consecutive Super Bowl. Their journey began with victories at the 2024 and 2023 Super Bowls, adding to their impressive title count of four, which includes their earlier triumphs at the 2020 and 1970 games.

On the other hand, the Eagles are eagerly anticipating a chance to rewrite history after their loss to the Chiefs in the 2023 Super Bowl. While they currently hold only one Super Bowl victory from 2018, they’re poised and ready to bring another championship title home, especially considering this game serves as a rematch of their previous encounter.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to highlight an outstanding athlete whose skills on the football field are nothing short of extraordinary. That would be none other than Jalen Hurts, the impressive quarterback gracing the Philadelphia Eagles since 2020. Did you know that, according to NBC Sports Philadelphia, he’s broken a record in the NFL postseason? His remarkable streak now stands at seven games with at least 20 passes and zero interceptions – a feat unmatched in NFL history!

1. One more name to keep in mind is Saquon Barkley, a running back who is nearly breaking the single-season rushing record (including playoffs), which was set by Hall of Famer Terrell Davis. Intriguingly, he and cornerback Cooper DeJean share their birthdays with Super Bowl Sunday.

2. A name you should remember is A.J. Brown. He has garnered praise for his on-field performance and gone viral off the field, such as when he pulled out a book during the playoffs to do some reading on the sidelines.

3. For the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes serves as the quarterback. Since joining the team in 2017, he has won three Super Bowls (2020, 2023, and 2024) and received MVP honors from NFL Honors on two occasions.

4. You should also note Chris Jones, the defensive tackle with the fourth most sacks in Chiefs history. And let’s not forget Travis Kelce, the tight end who has made headlines by dating Taylor Swift and holds the all-time record for receiving touchdowns for the Chiefs.

As a connoisseur of various activities, I’d like to break down the fundamentals of football, specifically focusing on how teams accumulate points and ultimately determine the winner.

In this game, there are two distinct groups: the offensive unit, whose objective is to score points, and the defensive team, tasked with preventing their opponents from achieving that goal.

Scoring points can occur in several ways. The first and most direct route is a touchdown. This happens when a team successfully advances the ball into their opponent’s end zone—the scoring areas situated at the ends of the field. For a touchdown to be valid, any part of the ball must cross the goal line, which separates the end zone from the rest of the playing area.

Upon scoring a touchdown, the team earns six points. They then have an additional opportunity to rack up more points. This is achieved by either kicking the ball from the 15-yardline through the goalposts for one point (a field goal) or attempting a two-point conversion. A two-point conversion involves starting from the two-yardline and trying to return the ball into the end zone for an additional two points.

If the offense manages to advance, but not quite score a touchdown, they can opt for a field goal instead. This occurs when they kick the ball through the goalpost from any location on the field for three points.

Once one team has scored, the other side takes over possession of the ball, creating an ongoing cycle until the game clock runs out or one team achieves a lead that cannot be surpassed in the remaining time.

Let’s discuss some fundamentals: A standard football field spans 100 yards. Teams are allotted a particular number of plays, known as downs, to propel the ball towards the end zone for scoring.

At the commencement of each play, the offense and defense position themselves on opposite sides of a line called the line of scrimmage. Neither side is allowed to cross this line until the ball is hiked—which means handed to the quarterback on the offense to initiate a play.

The offense then has four opportunities, or downs, to advance the ball at least 10 yards downfield by either running with it or passing it. If they achieve this, they retain possession of the ball and receive another set of four opportunities to move the ball another 10 yards or more. This sequence repeats until the offense reaches the end zone, or the defense halts their advancement for at least 10 yards within four downs, causing the other team to gain control of the ball.

The defense can prevent the offense from advancing in several ways, such as by tackling, obstructing, or intercepting—a term used when the offense throws the ball to a teammate and the defense catches it instead, resulting in them gaining possession.

The defense can also regain the ball if the offense fumbles—drops the football during play, and the defense recovers it.

If a referee determines that a player on either side is violating the game’s rules, they may incur a penalty.

Kendrick Lamar, the artist behind “Not Like Us,” has had a packed week following his five Grammy wins. This weekend, he’s set to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, a gig he’s no stranger to—he was part of the 2022 lineup that included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

I can hardly contain my excitement! It seems like everyone’s gearing up for the Super Bowl, including Travis Scott and his entourage, as his brother Jason Kelce hinted in an interview with People on February 4th. Now, Taylor Swift, originally from Pennsylvania, might join the Chiefs’ bandwagon this time around.

Travis himself has hinted that his dad Scott Swift could be rooting for the Chiefs, but he hasn’t had the conversation yet to confirm. As for Taylor’s loyalties, Travis stated that while her father is an Eagles fan, she’ll definitely support the Chiefs this time around.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, there’s speculation about a possible proposal from Travis to Taylor during halftime. When asked if he planned to pop the question on game day, Travis playfully replied, “Wouldn’t you like to know?”

With both teams boasting impressive fanbases, it looks like the Superdome will be filled with celebrities rooting for their favorite teams. To find out who else will be in attendance, check out the list of celebrity Eagles and Chiefs fans here.
