Man, I can’t even imagine missing Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show! You gotta keep that TV on until the very end. It’s going to be a spectacle like no other, trust me!
During the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Philadelphia Eagles on February 9, a rapper made an appearance halfway through at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome. Fans couldn’t help but observe that his actions seemed to suggest some diss toward Drake, as their ongoing feud continued to unfold.
Among these comments, one appeared to follow the pattern of the “a” chain that Kendrick Lamar wore – an interpretation by some on social media suggesting it was a subtle reference to the “A minor” lyric in his critically acclaimed and five-time Grammy-winning song “Not Like Us.
One fan commented on X: “Kendrick sporting a ‘lowercase a’ diamond chain for a minor? My kind of hater. Holy smokes.” Another said, “Did Kendrick Lamar wear a lowercase ‘a’ diamond necklace to represent ‘A minor’? Hilarious.” A third joked, “Kendrick Lamar actually wore an ‘a minor’ chain during his ‘they not like us’ performance at the Super Bowl. Ha!
In the song “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar delivers lines such as “I think you prefer your girls young,” and “Attempting to hit the right note, likely it’s A minor.
Drake has refuted claims about associating with underage individuals. In his song “The Heart Part 6,” the artist known as “God’s Plan” raps: “Drake’s name won’t show up on any sex offender list, Eazy-Duz-It / When you bring up a minor, people need to A-sharp and clear things up for fans, ‘Who was it?'”
He goes on to say, “I’ve never been with anyone underage, but now I understand why this is the angle you like to pursue / For the sake of clarity, I find it repulsive, I’m too well-respected / If I were having relationships with young girls, I assure you, I would have faced arrest.
In the spotlight, I subtly poked fun at my fellow artist, Drake, during my rendition of “Not Like Us.” As I delivered the line, “Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young,” I deliberately gazed directly into the camera. To add more fuel to the fire, Serena Williams, who dated Drake a decade ago, graced the stage with me during my performance. Other luminaries, such as Samuel L. Jackson and SZA, were also part of this engaging spectacle.
