Kenny Omega Spotted Training for AEW Return With Kota Ibushi

As a lifelong wrestling fan, I must say that seeing Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi reunite is like witnessing a long-awaited reunion of two old friends. Their bond is evident in every photo they share, and it’s heartening to see them both back on their feet after their respective health scares.

Kota Ibushi and Kenny Omega, friends for a long time, have recently been spotted together again after quite a while apart. The pictures offer a first glance at Omega’s recovery following his serious health issue which has kept him away from wrestling since December last year. In the photos, they are seen posing for the camera in Ibushi’s training facility in Japan. The second image shows them enjoying themselves by raising their drinks. “World domination is just around the corner,” Ibushi posted on Instagram. “Had a great workout after a long gap. We still have a long way to go. Next stop: AEW!

Omega frequently journeys to Japan for diverse functions, such as video game events. Next week marks the commencement of the Tokyo Game Show, which may account for his upcoming visit. Meanwhile, Ibushi is recovering from an injury and fans are curious about his return to AEW. However, he’s stated that it depends on Omega’s schedule.

When Will Kenny Omega Return to AEW?

In December, Omega suffered a critical bout with diverticulitis, an illness he believes might have proven fatal had it not been treated promptly. Fans were concerned for his well-being after observing him seeming disoriented during a wrestling match with Chris Jericho. As the situation worsened, he opted for natural healing methods, but doctors became increasingly worried about his condition.

On AEW Dynamite, he made a comeback to speak with the audience and share his health status. However, his friends from The Elite ambushed him, focusing on his injured abdomen. Given Kenny Omega’s private nature, updates about his recovery have been scarce since his surgery. Lately, he has been seen taking pictures with fans, appearing healthy and cheerful.

More recently, Michael Nakazawa, a longstanding companion of Omega, disclosed that medical professionals had excised about 25 centimeters from his colon. “… Gradually, he has been engaging in physical exercise,” Nakazawa shared with Love-Spo. “He is yet to regain the strength to lift weights as before, so he’s seeking the most suitable training regime that includes rehabilitative activities like walking and aquatic exercises, and he’s putting forth significant effort towards recovery. He’s striving to discover the best workout he can manage currently” (credit: Fightful).

ComicBook continues to wish Omega well in his recovery. Stay tuned for updates.
