Kentucky Fried Chicken Blows Fans Minds With Colonel Sanders Anime

As someone who’s been following the evolution of anime since I was a wee lad sipping chicken broth from a cardboard bucket, I must say, this new era of fast-food franchises diving headfirst into the world of anime is nothing short of delightful! Who would have thought that Colonel Sanders and Eren Jaeger would one day share the same universe? It’s like fried chicken met Titan shifters at a cosplay convention, and they decided to team up for an epic crossover!

It’s no wonder, given anime’s rising fame, that various industries are seizing the opportunity to tap into this medium. Notably, fast-food giants like McDonald’s and Burger King have partnered with series such as Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece, My Hero Academia, among others. In fact, earlier this year, McDonald’s ventured into creating its own anime universe called “WcDonald’s”, featuring original anime characters designed by renowned artist Acky Bright and anime shorts produced by Studio Pierrot. Now, Kentucky Fried Chicken has taken it a step further with a collaboration inspired by Genshin Impact, bringing an anime world to life for Colonel Sanders.

For the first time, it seems the Colonel is stepping into his very own anime realm, but this isn’t a fresh collaboration between Kentucky Fried Chicken and Genshin Impact. The Hoyoverse game has garnered quite a fanbase due to its thrilling gameplay and vast universe. The producers have also developed other game worlds such as Honkai Star Rail, Zenless Zone Zero, and Honkai Impact. Previously, the partnership took place in 2021; however, this new alliance will commence in China on October 2nd. Although it’s uncertain if the West will experience this collaboration, you can watch the Colonel Sanders anime video below.

Colonel Sanders Arrives Into Anime

Although it may not be an entire anime series for Colonel Sanders, the video places Sanders in the realm of Genshin Impact, providing a unique universe for the fast-food icon to explore. Recently, McDonald’s and Burger King have engaged in friendly competition involving anime, as the latter collaborated with My Hero Academia, while the former unexpectedly partnered with Hoyoverse’s entry. As the popularity of anime continues to rise, it is increasingly likely that more fast-food anime crossovers will become a trend.

Attack on KFC

Interestingly, contrary to what one might expect, 2024 isn’t just the year Colonel Sanders made his entrance into the anime realm, but KFC has also collaborated with “Attack on Titan” in China. Although the anime series, centered around Eren Jaeger, Mikasa, Armin, and the other Scout Regiment members, may have concluded its final episode, it’s still managing to reemerge in innovative ways. This collaboration not only reenacted crucial scenes from the series but also introduced a unique twist where Titans were seen attacking each other with fried chicken. This was quite unexpected for many anime enthusiasts as the story of Eren and the Survey Corps is typically serious, often delving into some of the most somber moments in any anime.

Although the anime adaptation of “Attack on Titan” has concluded, the franchise is preparing for a comeback this year with an innovative approach. The upcoming film titled “Attack On Titan: The Last Attack” will mark the franchise’s first movie, as it combines the final episodes from MAPPA’s intense series. At present, MAPPA hasn’t announced whether this compilation film will be screened in North American theaters; however, considering that other popular franchises like “Demon Slayer“, “DandaDan“, and more have made a similar move in the Western market, it wouldn’t surprise Western audiences if Attack on Titan’s first movie premiered on the big screen.
