Kevin Franke Breaks Silence: Why He’s Not Ready to Date After Ruby’s Arrest

Kevin Franke is not ready to date again amid his ex Ruby Franke‘s incarceration.

Indeed, the husband, who has been estranged from the well-known influencer mother, stated that he will wait until their divorce is officially completed before taking any further action.

In 2023, Kevin initiated a legal process to part ways with Ruby. This move came shortly after Ruby and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were apprehended on allegations of severe child abuse in Utah. It was revealed that Kevin and Ruby had been living separately for more than a year prior to this event, as confirmed by Kevin’s legal representative.

As a lifestyle expert, I often reflect upon this topic myself, especially given my personal circumstances – being married to Ruby since 2000 and sharing the joy of six wonderful children with her. However, it’s essential to remember that I am a man of integrity, and I must honor my vows, as I am, technically, still married.

The 46-year-old went on to note that he’s “still working through the divorce.”

He went on to say that we’re working towards an agreement. This has been in the works for more than a year now, and it’s still in progress. We’re almost there.

As a devoted admirer, I find myself compelled to share this intriguing piece of news: Ruby, aged 43, and Jodi, aged 55, have each agreed to serve four consecutive terms, with sentences ranging from one to 15 years. In the state of Utah, this equates to a span of four to 60 years behind bars, but their maximum incarceration will be limited to 30 years.

In August 2023, Ruby and Kevin found themselves in police custody following an incident where one of their sons managed to flee from Jodi’s residence – the home shared by Jodi, the YouTuber, and some of her children as stated by Utah officials. This escapee then sought help at a neighbor’s house, asking for essential supplies like food and water.

Upon their arrival, the police reported that they encountered a child who appeared severely undernourished and had open wounds, as well as signs of duct tape on his limbs. They also found another child of Ruby and Kevin in a similarly weak state at Jodi’s home.

At a recent hearing before the Utah House Business, Labor and Commerce Committee, Kevin expressed regret over involving his and Ruby’s children in her past YouTube parenting videos.

Kevin expressed his remorse on February 18th, stating that he should not have shared videos of his family on social media platforms, including his kids. He believes that adults often fail to comprehend the emotional and psychological consequences of exposing personal lives to millions of internet users, so it’s unrealistic to expect children to understand these impacts as well. On his side, Kevin has progressed by cutting off connections with Ruby. Beyond their divorce, he has asked that Ruby avoid communicating with him during her time in prison.

In a recent interview with People, he mentioned that the latest letter he got from her, which was likely around March or April of the previous year, came from prison. Afterwards, he asked the Department of Corrections to cease her correspondence with him.

Although Kevin didn’t reveal the specific contents of Ruby’s letter, he stated that he found her words unpleasant or disagreeable.

“I’m very angry,” Kevin added. “I’m still very angry.”

As a dedicated follower of news, I’d like to share that a distressing incident came to light when Utah authorities received a call about a malnourished child being discovered. In their official statement, they detailed that this minor was in an extremely weak state, visibly emaciated and suffering from open wounds, with signs of duct tape on the limbs. The child was immediately rushed to the hospital due to the critical nature of their condition.

It was later discovered that he was the 12-year-old son of YouTuber Ruby Franke, as reported by NBC News based on a probable cause affidavit. The boy had been at the residence of Ruby’s business partner, Jodi Hildebrant. After climbing out of a window, he sought help from a neighbor’s house, as stated in the document.

I couldn’t help but feel a chill run down my spine as I learned that authorities had discovered another child, much like our beloved hero, in a state of severe malnutrition, just a stone’s throw away. This heart-wrenching revelation was confirmed in an official statement, and the unfortunate soul was promptly hospitalized.

Later on, it was clarified that authorities found Ruby’s 9-year-old child, trembling alone in an unoccupied wardrobe, as revealed by the Washington County Attorney’s Office.

In Utah, Ruby was detained for severe child abuse allegations, and Jodi, who founded the life coaching firm ConneXions in 2007, was also involved. Former clients told NBC News that this service operated like a cult, adhering to teachings similar to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On August 31st, according to TopMob, Shari Franke – Ruby’s grown daughter – shared her reaction to the recent news on her Instagram Story.

Shari, born in 2003, expressed her joy that justice is being delivered. For years, she and her family have been attempting to bring their concerns to the police and CPS, and they are elated that action has finally been taken. The children are now safe, but there’s a long journey still ahead.

In addition to Ruby, her siblings Ellie Mecham, Bonnie Hoellein, and Julie Deru also expressed their thoughts, stating that the arrest of the YouTuber was necessary.

In their shared Instagram post over the past 3 years, they expressed that they have chosen discretion regarding Ruby Franke to protect her children. While maintaining a public image, they’ve made every effort to ensure the kids’ safety. They feel it is inappropriate to continue with routine content without acknowledging the latest developments. After addressing these recent events, they will refrain from discussing the matter any further.

The siblings said Ruby’s kids are “now safe, which is the number one priority.”

Previously known as ‘The 8 Passengers’ YouTube duo, Amelia (the YouTuber) and her partner Jodi, faced six charges of felony child abuse, officially filed by the District Attorney of Washington County, Utah.

Ruby’s spouse, Kevin Franke, publicly declared his innocence regarding the accusations against her. In an interview with Good Morning America, their lawyer, Randy Kester, revealed that they had been separated for a period of 13 months prior to her arrest.

The attorney stated, “He is indeed kind-hearted and soft-spoken.” Furthermore, it’s worth noting that there have been no accusations of him physically harming the children or anyone else.

As reported by NBC News through a domestic relations injunction, it’s been confirmed that Kevin has formally initiated divorce proceedings with the Utah-based influencer.

On December 18th, it was confirmed by TopMob that Ruby admitted guilt for four of the charges brought against her. According to the Associated Press, she expressed her deep remorse for her family and children at the time, saying, “Guilty, with the heaviest regret and sorrow.

Jodi would also plead guilty to four counts of second-degree felony aggravated child abuse.

The two females received concurrent prison terms that ranged from one to 15 years each, but their maximum sentence length is limited to 30 years according to Utah’s laws.

The parent vlogger apologized during her sentencing to her six kids and estranged husband.

Over the last four years, I’ve been guided by advice that steered me into a deep, twisted illusion, I admitted in court. This distorted perspective of mine remained largely unchallenged because I secluded myself from anyone daring enough to question it.

She added, “To my dearest ones, you are an extension of myself. In the past, I saw darkness as light and wrong as right. For you, I would go to any lengths in this world. I stripped away from you everything tender, secure, and virtuous.

Authorities made public her shocking diary excerpts, detailing the abuse she allegedly inflicted on her kids, with a particular focus on her 12-year-old son whom she described as being involved in Satanism.

In her journal entry from July 10, 2023, which was her son’s 12th birthday, she wrote: “He secretly searches for chances when others aren’t looking and then quickly moves away, this is how he acts. If he aims to imitate the savior, he must be utterly obedient without any deviation or concealment.

She wrote about punishing her children by beating them and withholding food and water.

Investigators’ conversation with Kevin, recorded following Ruby’s arrest, was made public by the prosecution. In this recording, Kevin discussed some supposed limitations he encountered at home.

As an utterly devoted fan, I found myself bound by a set of constraints that felt like they were straight out of a script. I had the freedom to leave whenever I desired, but returning required Ruby’s approval. Dining in the kitchen was no longer a casual affair; I needed her permission first. The upper floor, where Jodi resided, was off-limits, making my own house feel like a foreign territory. It was frustrating and difficult to adjust to Ruby dictating the terms of our interactions, deciding when we could communicate.
