The acclaimed actor Kiefer Sutherland, known for his roles in “Designated Survivor” and “24”, as well as actress, writer, and producer Rebel Wilson, famous for films like “Bridesmaids” and “Pitch Perfect” (and more recently “Jojo Rabbit”), have joined forces on the cheerful and laugh-out-loud holiday production titled “Tinsel Town”. This project is currently being filmed in various locations across the Northern part of England, as well as at Leeds’ Versa Studios.
As a jaded Hollywood action hero with an inflated sense of self-worth (yours truly), I was taken aback when my long-running action franchise was unexpectedly axed. With my career spiraling downward and fearing that my days in Tinseltown were numbered, I ventured across the pond to London, seeking redemption as a serious stage actor on the West End. However, my persistent agent had other ideas, dispatching me instead to a quaint, snow-covered village to spearhead their peculiar rendition of Cinderella. Stumbling through rehearsals alongside an eclectic ensemble of local eccentrics, I embarked upon a transformation that was both professionally disastrous and personally enlightening. This journey took me to unexpected heights of second chances, heartwarming friendships, and festive magic in this delightfully funny Christmas comedy, all while crossing paths with the no-nonsense choreographer Jill (Rebel Wilson).
The screenplay for this production was written by the trio consisting of Frazer Flintham, Adam Brown, and Piers Ashworth. They were also assisted by Jake Brunger in providing additional content. Lastly, Chris Foggin will be at the helm as the director (Bank of Dave)).
In her unique style, Rebel Wilson shared her excitement about her upcoming Christmas film, saying: “I adore British Christmas films because in Australia we’re usually enjoying a barbecue on the beach. Now, I feel like I’m experiencing a traditional British Christmas – cold to the bone but filled with laughter and joyful sledding rides!
Tinsel Town will be coming to Sky Cinema at Christmas 2025.
