Killer Secrets Even the Unforgotten Theme Song Can’t Reveal

This weekend, the long-awaited Season 6 of “Unforgotten” returns to our TV screens, promising more unexpected plots and intricate turns of events.

In its sixth season, the main actors Sinead Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar resume their key roles as Jessica and Sunny, finding a bit more ease in adjusting to one another’s work rhythms this time around.

Or:

Entering its sixth season, original stars Sinéad Keenan and Sanjeev Bhaskar once again take on the leads as Jessica and Sunny, now more accustomed to each other’s professional routines.

The fresh season commences with the unearthing of human remains at Whitney Marsh, and it isn’t long before the investigative squad realizes that this isn’t an old unsolved crime, but rather, the remains had been purposefully deposited on the marsh in a dismembered state.

Who is the murderer? We’ll find out soon enough, as a fresh set of six episodes unfolds. These episodes promise to keep us guessing and on the edge of our seats, just as we’ve come to expect.

It’s hard to imagine Unforgotten without the distinctive theme tune that introduces every episode, along with its eerie melody that combines the sounds of piano, cello, violin, and other instruments.

Although the drama lacks a conventional soundtrack, it effectively highlights the skills of Michael Price, an Emmy Award-winning composer renowned for his work on Unforgotten.

Read on for everything you need to know about Unforgotten season 6’s soundtrack.

What is the Unforgotten theme song?

Throughout the six seasons, the opening theme has consistently stayed the same, providing an emotional lens into the series while simultaneously serving as a title sequence filled with recurring hints and subtleties.

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but share that the captivating theme tune playing during the opening credits of Unforgotten is none other than “All We Do,” penned and sung by the talented duo Oh Wonder, otherwise known as Ant West and Josephine Vander Gucht. This soulful melody was first introduced on their self-titled album back in 2014.

The melodious theme song at the end of every episode is actually created by Michael Price. During the fourth season, he offered a behind-the-scenes look at the enchanting music process for each track, which you can watch here.

Unforgotten composer

The acclaimed composer Michael Price returns once more to steer the ship of the show’s melodies, crafting more elegant symphonies for the upcoming fifth season.

Previously, Price has held the role of a music editor on movies like Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Love Actually, and Nanny McPhee.

In terms of his career as a composer, he’s been responsible for the music of numerous films, with a significant emphasis on modern dramas such as Unforgotten in more recent times.

Price frequently collaborates with David Arnold, and this team has created music for every installment of Sherlock, Jekyll and Hyde, Dracula, as well as the Sister Boniface Mysteries.

Since its debut in 2015, he has been responsible for the musical composition of Unforgotten. This responsibility continued through seasons 3 and 4, culminating in a soundtrack album released in 2021 titled “Unforgotten: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”. Tracks like “Sorry to Trouble You”, “The Hillside”, “Praying for Air” among others, have all been included in this album and seamlessly match the dramatic scenes of the series.

The score features the solo cello of Peter Gregson and Price’s haunting piano.

As a die-hard movie fan, I couldn’t help but share my excitement over the snippets of the upcoming musical score for Season 6! Check out the teaser video of me tickling the ivories, available now on my official Facebook page.
