King of The Hill Revival Reveals Major Change to Boomhauer

Fans of the witty cast from “King of The Hill” have often pondered about the lives of not just the Hills, but also the supporting characters, since the show’s original finale and revival. Recently, Hulu revealed the first trailer for the return of the series, scheduled to premiere on their platform on August 4th. This new installment offers a peek into what some characters have been doing with their lives, including a significant change in Boomhauer’s status since we last saw him. Once known as the “eternal bachelor,” it seems that this label might no longer apply to Boomhauer following our absence from the series.

In the fresh start, there’s a significant time gap between the initial King of The Hill opening sequence and the upcoming series. This change finds Hank and his family unexpectedly relocating from Arlen. To add to the alterations, a new character joins the group, presumably taking up residence in the Hill’s former home. Bill, our beloved character, appears to become unwell and departs the scene, while Dale aspires for political office – possibly running for mayor. Boomhauer, a recurring character, mysteriously vanishes with a woman and her child, leaving us curious about whether he has finally tied the knot or discovered a child of his own for the first time. For your viewing pleasure, here’s a sneak peek at the new intro below.

One intriguing plot twist in the finale of the King of The Hill series was uncovering Boomhauer’s profession, which had been an enigma throughout the show. It turned out that Hank’s long-time friend was none other than a Texas Ranger – a career that left many viewers surprised because it wasn’t something they anticipated. With the upcoming revival set more than a decade after the original series, there have been significant changes in the storyline.

During this time jump, Hank and Peggy were residing in Saudi Arabia, as per show co-creator Greg Daniels. In a recent interview with Vulture, Daniels explained the unusual decision: “We thought it was intriguing that he had been away for a while, so we imagined them being stationed at an Aramco base, which resembles an idealized version of suburban America. They’d been in Saudi Arabia and were just returning, missing out on many recent societal developments.

In an interview, co-creator Mike Judge mentioned that there’s a wealth of topics for Hank Hill to discuss during the revival, as “A lot has transpired globally since the series concluded. There are simply more things for Hank to voice his disapproval over.
