According to reports, the original cast and creators of “King of the Hill” are planning to gather at the ATX TV Festival in May. Attendees can expect a sneak peek of the upcoming “King of the Hill” series, with the panel offering behind-the-scenes insights, favorite memories from producing the show, and more. Additionally, it was revealed that the revival will premiere on Hulu this summer; however, an exact release date has not been disclosed yet.

The ATX Festival event is scheduled for May 30th, and it’s been announced that the festival, in collaboration with Hulu, will hold a “BBQ in the style of King of the Hill.” It’s not clear if propane will be used to cook the food, but given the theme, it seems likely. The confirmed panel participants include co-creator and executive producer Mike Judge, Greg Daniels, and Saladin K. Patterson. Actors expected to attend are Pamela Adlon (Bobby Hill), Lauren Tom (Connie), Toby Huss (Cotton), with Judge providing the voices for Hank and Boomhauer.

King of the Hill Returns in Summer 2025

For a span of 13 seasons, the animated sitcom “King of the Hill” aired on Fox from 1997 to 2009. This show revolved around the Hills family, who resided in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas. The family included father Hank (portrayed by Mike Judge), mother Peggy (Kathy Najimy), son Bobby (Pamela Adlon), and Peggy’s niece Luanne (Brittany Murphy). Notable supporting characters included Boomhauer (also voiced by Mike Judge), Dale (Johnny Hardwick), Bill (Stephen Root), Connie (Lauren Tom), Joseph (shared by Breckin Meyer and later Murphy), John Redcorn (Victor Aaron/Jonathan Joss), Nancy (Ashley Gardner), and Lucky (Tom Petty).

The follow-up series continues several years after the first one, with the character now working as a professional chef. Sadly, Murphy, Petty, and Hardwick have all passed away since the original series ended; Hardwick died during the filming of the revival. However, before his demise, it’s said that he completed some voiceover work for his return as Dale. This character is set to make a comeback in the revival, albeit in a limited capacity. No hints have been given about recasting the roles of Luanne, Lucky, and Dale, but the fate of their characters on the new show remains undecided.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that this coming summer, a brand-new installment of the beloved “King of the Hill” series will grace our screens on Hulu! For those eager to reminisce about the good old days, the original series is already streaming there, offering fans like us a chance to refresh our memories before diving into the revival.
