As an analyst, I’m excited to share that Warhorse Studios, the creative powerhouse behind the critically acclaimed games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance in 2018 and its highly anticipated sequel, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 in 2025, has announced their plans for growth. Beginning this July, they will be establishing a brand-new office to accommodate their expanding team.
On Wednesday morning, there was an announcement from Warhorse, shared through a social media post. They stated, “We’re expanding! Warhorse Studios will be opening a new office in Brno (Czech Republic) on July 1st. This move increases our development capabilities and aids the creation of KCD2 and future DLCs, while also setting the stage for what lies ahead for us and you.
New details emerged from an article on GamesIndustry.biz about the expansion. Warhorse Studios, based in Prague, announced that their new office in Brno will be headed by Petr Kolář, who was previously the managing director at Ashborne Games, known for the highly praised 2023 RTS game Last Train Home. Interestingly, Warhorse has collaborated with Ashborne on the recent Brushes With Death DLC for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, which was launched in May.
Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, communications director for Warhorse Studios, disclosed that the company is expanding its team in Brno to enhance their development capabilities. The ultimate aim is to handle multiple projects simultaneously. For now, this new branch of the studio will aid in creating the next two expansions for Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
I noted that having an office in Brno empowers Warhorse Studios to expand their development capabilities, thereby handling numerous projects simultaneously. It’s not merely about speeding up production; it’s about fostering the creation of bigger, more intricate games while preserving quality. However, these are just hints of things to come. For the moment, the fresh team will be assisting with both the ongoing development of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and its additional content.
The studio also emphasized the abundance of skilled game developers based in Brno, which makes it an appealing place to grow further. Importantly, companies like Bohemia Interactive (known for Arma), GIANTS Software (creators of Farming Simulator), and Hangar 13 (developers of Mafia) all have branches located within the city.
In Stolz-Zwilling’s opinion, Brno boasts a robust history in game development and an abundant pool of talented individuals. The partnership with Ashborne Games underscored the worth of this local skillset. Furthermore, the city provides access to technical universities and seasoned professionals spanning various fields, positioning it as a wise decision for sustained growth.

Kolář himself showed great eagerness about becoming part of Warhorse, given their efforts in creating upcoming projects. Put simply, he stated that he is extremely proud of what the Ashborne team has accomplished and eager to carry that same enthusiasm into Warhorse Studios. After collaborating closely with them, he can’t wait to officially join the Warhorse team and assist in crafting this exciting new chapter from Brno.
Regarding future projects by Warhorse Studios, it’s been announced that there will be two additional downloadable content (DLC) packs for Kingdom Come: Deliverance this year. The first one, Legacy of the Forge, is scheduled for release in the fall season, while Mysteria Ecclesia is set to arrive during winter.
Additionally, while not much has been disclosed, the studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance has revealed they are simultaneously working on another role-playing game alongside their current project. There’s a lot of speculation that this could potentially be the third installment in the Kingdom Come series, although no official announcement has been made as yet.
Looking ahead, I’ll stand ready for whatever new experiences the developer has planned for players, given my deep fondness for both the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance (KCD) and its successor, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. This RPG is among my all-time favorites, a sentiment I expressed in my review, and it’s clear that it’s made a significant impact, both critically and commercially. So far, it has sold over 3 million copies, making it a strong contender for Game of the Year in 2025.
