Skills Overview

Normal Attack: Nightsun Style

As a gamer, I unleash up to three swift attacks in quick succession. After soaring through the air with my skill “Canopy Hunter: Riding High,” I can deliver another attack while mid-air before touching down again.

Instead of “Charged Attack,” you could say, “This move consumes some stamina as he swings his Claymore around and hurls it at enemies.

Dives from above, striking the ground forcefully, causing damage to enemies as it descends and releasing Area of Effect (AoE) damage upon landing.

Elemental Skill: Canopy Hunter: Riding High

Kinich employs his big-game hunting abilities to either swiftly advance or strike against an opponent. When there’s a nearby adversary or target, he will fasten a grappling hook to it and activate Nightsoul’s Blessing with zero Nightsoul points.

If there’s no one close by, he launches a grappling hook ahead, then swings through the air using it, and this ability’s cooldown is reduced by 60% for this action. Additionally, you can hold onto this skill to aim the grappling hook before release.

Nightsoul Point Limit: 20
CD: 18s

Kinich receives the blessing of his Night Soul for a duration of 10 seconds, which produces 2 Night Soul points each second. During this phase, Kinich will latch onto a close-by adversary and execute a varied assault.

  • When using a Normal Attack, Kinich will fire Loop Shots as he loops around the grappled target based on his current movement direction, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Dendro DMG and generating 3 Nightsoul points. Loop Shot DMG is considered Elemental Skill DMG.
  • When Nightsoul points are at max, he can use the Elemental Skill “Scalespiker Cannon”: Consume all Nightsoul points to deal Nightsoul-aligned Dendro DMG. When “Scalespiker Cannon” is Held, Kinich can aim this shot. After firing the Cannon, Kinich will try to grapple to its target.

In NightSoul’s Blessing, following the capture of an adversary or the discharge of the Scalespiker Cannon, a concealed area appears near the enemy. When Kinich moves into this hidden zone, it vanishes and he gains 4 Nightsoul energy points. If the connection during the grapple is broken due to exceeding the maximum distance or some other cause, using a regular attack will re-establish contact with a nearby foe before executing Loop Shots.

Elemental Burst: Hail to the Almighty Dragonlord

Activates a partial, temporary power of the Dragonlord K’uhul Ajaw, focusing on Area of Effect (AoE) damage that aligns with Dendro, under certain conditions. At specific intervals, Ajaw will emit his Dragon Breath, causing AoE Dendro damage to Nightsoul-aligned targets. If Kinich is currently under the influence of Nightsoul’s Blessing, using this ability extends the blessing’s duration by an additional 1.7 seconds.

Duration: 15s

Energy Cost: 70

Ascension 1: The Price of Desolation

When Kinich is in his Nightsoul’s Blessing mode, enemies struck by his Elemental Skill will be inflicted with the Desolation status. Additionally, if these enemies are affected by Burning or Burgeoning reaction damage, they will restore 7 points of Nightsoul to Kinich. Every 0.8 seconds, Kinich can gain a point from this source. The Desolation state remains active until the current instance of Kinich’s Nightsoul’s Blessing ends.

Ascension 4: Flame Spirit Pact

Following a comrade’s activation of a Nightsoul Burst, Kinich accumulates one layer of Hunter’s Knowledge for a duration of 15 seconds. A maximum of two layers can be held. When Kinich unleashes Canopy Hunter: Riding High’s Scalespiker Cannon, each stored layer of Hunter’s Knowledge is expended. In turn, the damage inflicted by this Cannon shot is amplified by 320% of Kinich’s Attack Power for every consumed layer.

Night Realm’s Gift Passive: Repaid in Full

Kinich. When the active character is running at full speed, during certain special abilities, or while airborne, switching to Kinich will prompt him to carry out one of these actions based on the given circumstances:

  • When facing a Coilgrass Sigil that can be interacted with: He will fire a grappling hook towards it to move;
  • When there are nearby opponents and you are in combat: Kinich will use Canopy Hunter: Riding High in the direction of the opponents;

If necessary, Kinich will launch a grappling hook and swings, preferably attaching to valid Coilgrass Sigils when available as swinging points. The Nightsoul Transmission can be activated every 10 seconds by members of your team.

When you engage Coilgrass Sigils and other objects that Yumkasaurs can interact with, the ability “Canopy Hunter: Riding High” will be changed to “Yumkasaur Mimesis.” This alteration means that interactions with such items will follow rules designed for Yumkasaurs, thereby avoiding activating Canopy Hunter: Riding High.

Passive Talent: Swift Envoy

In the region of Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, engaging with specific gatherable items enhances the Movement Speed of your teammates by 15% for a duration of 10 seconds. Furthermore, the position of Natlan-exclusive resources gets marked on your mini-map for easy identification.

TLDR / Rotation

Kinich’s big damage comes from his Skill. Before that, swift explanation that his Normal ATK is extremely basic and most of the time, you won’t use it. While his Elemental Burst summons Ajaw in dragon form and lets him do AoE Dendro DMG periodically.

Regarding Kinich’s abilities, when a foe is present, he can employ the grappling hook skill, linking it to a single target. This action triggers NightSoul’s Blessing. Keep in mind that only one enemy can be connected at a time. To aim, hold down the Skill button. The NightSoul’s Blessing bar builds up when attacking the target with standard attacks or by entering the Blind Spot. Once full, you can use the Skill again to fire Scalespiker Cannon, his most potent attack. The Blind Spot, represented by a triangle symbol, appears near the enemy linked to the grappling hook. Take control of Kinich and step into this area to collect NightSoul points. Whenever you see the Blind Spot, make sure to enter it because it awards many points, facilitating Scalespiker Cannon’s deployment before NightSoul’s Blessing expires.

Concerning the duration of Kinich’s Nightsoul Blessing, it lasts for a brief 10 seconds, but extending it by 1.7 seconds is possible through Burst. Here’s how he can accumulate Nightsoul points:

To execute the Nightsoul’s Blessing using your skill, remember that regular attacks should be utilized to launch Loop Shots. Important note: these Loop Shots are categorized as Elemental Skill damage rather than regular attack damage.
