Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc Defies Odds With Season 2 Order

As a seasoned gamer with a rich history of following anime since the days of VHS tapes and Saturday morning cartoons, I must say that the return of Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc is a nostalgic delight! The fact that it’s not just a simple reboot but a continuation from where it left off in the 80s is nothing short of remarkable.

The popular series Kinnikuman resurfaced on screens this summer with a fresh season based on the original anime conclusion, now continuing as the Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc – Season 2. This comeback marks the franchise’s first new anime adaptation in more than three decades, coinciding with the 45th anniversary of the debut of the original Kinnikuman manga by Yudetamago in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. Unlike other classic franchises that have rebooted or returned with new stories recently, this one seamlessly continues from where its first anime series ended.

The enigmatic premiere of “Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc” occurred over the summer, allowing fans of the original series to immerse themselves immediately in the events depicted in the title arc. However, this approach might have appeared less than inviting for newcomers, leading some to speculate that it could be a brief reprise. But now, exciting news has emerged: not only is there a second season of this revamped anime underway, but its release is expected to take place early next year, promising more action without delay.

What to Know for Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Season 2

Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc wrapped up the first season of its run this Summer, and following the finale, Pony Canyon has confirmed that Season 2 is already in the midst of production. The new episodes are currently scheduled to make their debut some time in January as part of the Winter 2024 anime schedule, and will be streaming exclusively with Netflix when they premiere. Right now you can catch up with the first season of the series now streaming with Netflix too, and Pony Canyon teases the coming episodes as such, “This winter, the battle between the Seigi/Akuma Allied Forces and the Perfect Large Numbers unfolds at the Tottori Sand Dunes.”

For the second season, we have the original team from the first season rejoining their roles. Akira Sato is directing for Production I.G., with Makoto Fukami writing the scripts, Hirotaka Marufuji designing the characters, and Yasuharu Takanashi working on the music. The principal voice cast will again feature Mamoru Miyano as Kinnikuman, Akira Kamiya as Mayumi Kinniku, and Akira Kamiya as Prince Kamehame from the previous season.

Why Kinnikuman Season 2 Is a Surprise

As a devoted fan, I must admit that the news of a second season for the Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc took me by surprise. Given its relatively low profile outside Japan and the significantly altered version seen in the English dubbed version, Ultimate Musule, it’s not a franchise that immediately springs to mind as a global favorite. Yet, here we are, witnessing another season.

In addition, the fact that the anime was released on Netflix played a significant role in the successful debut of its second season. Now, it’s advantageous that Netflix begins releasing new episodes of their anime simultaneously with their initial releases in Japan, which means fans don’t have to wait long to catch up with any series distributed by Netflix. This is a big improvement compared to before, and shows like “Kinnikuman Perfect Origin Arc” can now reach their intended audience while there’s still a strong interest.
