Knives Out 3: Netflix Reveals Release Date & Sneak Peek for Wake Up Dead Man

As a cinephile, I’m thrilled to share that the enigmatic detective Benoit Blanc is gearing up for another adventure! Following the unexpected box office triumph of “Knives Out” in 2019, writer and director Rian Johnson sealed a significant deal with Netflix, paving the way for not one but two more films in the series. With Daniel Craig once again slipping into the role of Detective Benoit Blanc to unravel fresh mysteries, the first sequel, “Glass Onion,” graced our screens almost three years ago. At last, the much-anticipated follow-up, “Wake Up Dead Man,” is on its way!

On a Saturday evening during Netflix’s Tudum 2025 event, they unveiled an exclusive sneak peek of “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery”. Furthermore, Netflix announced that “Wake Up Dead Man” will be available for viewing on December 12, 2025.

In the movie “Wake Up Dead Man,” Craig is back in the lead role, joined by an impressive ensemble of well-known actors. Among them are Jeremy Renner, Josh O’Connor, Kailee Spaeny, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Andrew Scott, Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Daryl McCormack, Annie Hamilton, Kerry Frances, and Thomas Haden Church.

More Benoit Blanc Movies?

The agreement with Netflix offered a favorable deal for two Benoit Blanc mysteries, implying “Wake Up Dead Man” is the last one under that original contract. At present, it’s uncertain whether additional movies from this series will be produced, either on Netflix or another platform.

As stated by Johnson, he intends to carry on producing these films under two prerequisites: firstly, if he comes up with a compelling concept; secondly, as long as Daniel Craig agrees to carry on.

According to Johnson, he expressed during a recent interview with Collider that as long as Daniel Craig continues to be interested in the role and they come up with an idea that excites them rather than just producing another installment, they will consider making more Bond films. Johnson shared his passion for the genre, stating it’s versatile and full of potential, yet he is eager to explore a new, non-mystery genre for his next project. He noted that while he hasn’t grown tired of the Bond series, his upcoming work will be entirely different from what he has previously written, like “Wake Up Dead Man” being significantly distinct from “Glass Onion.
