Following an exhilarating Open Qualifier and two grueling months during Stage 1, the elite Overwatch teams globally are gearing up for their ultimate face-off – the Clash of Champions.
In this grand showdown, eight outstanding squads from OWCS (Overwatch Contenders Series) Asia, China, North America, and EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) will face off, marking the pinnacle of Stage 1 competition. From April 18th to 20th, these elite teams will engage in fierce combat at the Hangzhou Esports Center, competing for honor and their portion of a prize pool that has been collectively funded by fans.

Stage 1 Overview
The initial phase of the OWCS 2025 has been absolutely breathtaking. Teams from Asia and North America have shown incredible determination, with many barely edging out their competitors to secure a place in Hangzhou.
The initial phase kicked off as the ‘Open Qualifier’, where the qualifying teams were decided to compete alongside Partner Teams during the opening Regular Season of the year. Any competitor participating in the Open Qualifier, the first Regular Season, and the most recent season of the ‘FACEIT League’ received unique in-game rewards, only available to them.
One of the most captivating advancements was seen through the FACEIT League, serving as an Open Qualifier for Stage 2. The lowest-ranked teams from each region’s Regular Season battled it out in Promotion/Relegation matches against the top-performing teams from the FACEIT League. This event, scheduled for April 13th, promises yet another heart-pounding show!
Following the Open Qualifier, the leading eight teams within each region advanced to the Regular Season, aiming to qualify for the Playoffs. The top two squads from each region’s Playoffs secured a place in the Champions Clash!
Champions Clash Overview
The highly anticipated tournament, Champions Clash, is set to commence from April 18 to 20, with the event kicking off at 1PM Central Standard Time (CST). This corresponds to 6AM Central European Time (CET) or 10PM Pacific Standard Time (PST) on April 17.
As a passionate esports enthusiast, I’ve been following the thrilling journey of eight teams marching towards Hangzhou. In the heart of North America, my beloved team, NTMR, clinched the top spot with a jaw-dropping 6-map victory against regional titans Spacestation. Over in EMEA, Virtus.pro ruled the stage, wrapping up with an unbeaten 10-0 record, although their Grand Finals opponents Al Qadsiah gave them a run for their money, pushing them to six maps. In Asia, Team Falcons and Crazy Raccoon battled tirelessly through a grueling playoff bracket to secure their spots. CR swept the Falcons in the Upper Finals, but lost in a nail-biting six-map duel, handing the #1 seed to my esteemed rivals, Team Falcons.
The final position among seven teams will be decided during the OWCS China’s Stage 1 Playoffs, happening from April 4th to 6th. Don’t miss the excitement to discover which team will represent China in the Champions Clash!
