Kody Brown Admits Mocking Soul Mate Idea Before Marrying Robyn

Robyn Brown and Kody Brown‘s marriage may have been destiny all along.

On the April 20th episode of the TLC reality series, the ‘Sister Wives’ patriarch and his surviving spouse reminisced about their love tale. They even touched upon a specific term he once ridiculed in the past.

Kody expressed his deep affection, stating, “I can’t help but be smitten by my woman. She is the one I adore,” referring to his wife during a shared meal. He added, “I wasn’t aware at the time that she was my soul mate when we tied the knot.” This is in reference to Kody, who has 18 children with Robyn and his three other wives: Meri Brown, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown.

Gosh, Robyn, wasn’t I the one who mentioned that term before? Don’t you recall me ever using it with you? I don’t think I did, right?

In response, Robyn stated, “You made a jest of that term.” (Implying the word or phrase being referred to is ‘restructure’ in this context.)

56-year-old Kody swiftly expressed his regret, saying, “Were that so? My apologies! I certainly didn’t intend to offend you.

In the end, Robyn, who has children Dayton (25), Aurora (23), Breanna (21), Solomon (13), and Ariella (9) with Kody, wasn’t overly upset about his previous response. She reassured him that his comment did not offend her “in the slightest.

“It made complete sense,” she continued. “That word didn’t belong in our world.”

Noting that she only “said it once,” Robyn recalled, “Then I realized how wrong it was.”

The 46-year-old seemed to imply that it might be acceptable for you to be their soulmate, but they don’t feel the same way if the roles were reversed, due to other individuals in your life.

Kody remembered when his wife told him a certain phrase before, to which Robyn replied, “I only said it that one time, and then I recognized my mistake.

She mentioned, “Therefore, I believe it might be acceptable if you could be my soulmate, but not the other way around due to other individuals in your life.

 

In the debut episode of “Sister Waves”, broadcasted in 2010, Kody, who has separated from Meri, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown more recently, shares that he and Robyn have been dating for a couple of months. In another part of the show, while getting ready in a bathroom, Robyn expresses her feelings by saying, “Kody is my soul mate. I am deeply in love with him.

On the recent episode of the series, Kody mentioned that the remark she made has left him feeling complimented since that very day.

It’s not the first instance that the concept of soul mates has emerged within the universe of Sister Wives. On the very first episode of the series, which was filmed only a couple of months into their relationship back in 2010, Robyn referred to Kody as her soul mate. As she prepared herself, she expressed, “Kody is my soul mate and I love him.

Reflecting on it now, that incident left a lasting impression on the patriarch. During a recent episode’s confession, Kody mentioned, “Ever since she made that remark, I’ve been charmed by it until this very day.

Logan was born on May 21, 1994, making him the firstborn son to Kody Brown and Janelle Brown. As part of Kody’s large family, he is the eldest among a total of 18 children.

In a post on Instagram, Leon (also known as Leo) expressed that they were quite young when they lived in an environment that was heavily influenced by traditional gender roles and limitations. However, they are now ready to reveal their true self to the world, a self that embraces genderqueer, transgender, and unapologetic identities.

Leon married Audrey Kiss in 2020 at a Colorado courthouse wedding.

The second of Kody and Christine’s children, Mykelti was born on June 9, 1996.

Janelle gave birth to Madison—her second child with Kody—on Nov. 3, 1995.

Following my time at Utah State University, I tied the knot with Caleb Brush in the year 2016. Together, we’ve been blessed with three wonderful children – Axel, Evangalynn, and Josephine.

Janelle and Kody welcomed Hunter—their third child together—on Feb. 9, 1997.

I, a devoted adherent, proudly graduated from the prestigious United States Air Force Academy in the year 2020. Following this milestone, I embarked on another educational journey at Johns Hopkins University, focusing my studies on nursing.

Kristine gave birth to her and Kody’s third child together on Aug. 7, 1998.

As the third-youngest among Kody and Janelle, I, Garrison, was born on Halloween, October 31, 1998. Tragically, my journey ended on March 5, 2024, at the tender age of 25 years old.

Dayton, born to Kody’s fourth spouse, Robyn Brown, is from a previous union she had with Preston Jessop. In 2015, Dayton joined the family through adoption, five years following Robyn and Kody’s spiritual marriage ceremony.

2014 saw Kody finalize his divorce from his initial spouse, Meri, to legally wed Robyn and formally adopt Dayton as his child.

Nicknamed Gabe, the fifth child of Kody and Janelle was born on Oct. 11, 2001. 

Kody and Christine welcomed their fourth child on Oct. 15, 2001.

Gwendlyn tied the knot with Beatriz Queiroz in 2023.

Aurora, being the second-born, was adopted by Kody in 2015 following his marriage to her mother, Robyn, the previous year. In simpler terms, Aurora became part of Kody’s family through adoption a year after her parents got married.

Kody and Christine welcomed their fifth child together on June 13, 2003.

In my role as a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase that as follows: As part of my journey, I was born as Breanna, the third child in Robyn’s family with Preston. Following Robyn’s marriage to Kody, we, my older siblings and I, were legally welcomed into their fold, becoming an integral part of the Brown family.

On December 7, 2004, Kody and Janelle brought their youngest child into the world as a couple. Years later, despite being former partners, they attended Savannah’s high school graduation in 2023 together.

Born on April 13, 2010, Truely is the youngest child of Kody and Christine.

Kody and Robyn welcomed their second youngest son on Oct. 27, 2011.

Ariella was born on January 10th, 2016 and she is the youngest daughter shared by Kody and Robyn. She is also the youngest among the eighteen children in the entire Brown clan.
