Koei Tecmo Says it Intends to Refocus on AAA Development and Grow From 2,500 Employees to 5,000

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must say I’m thrilled to hear Koei Tecmo‘s commitment to the AAA console and PC market. Their portfolio has always been a favorite, from the exhilarating battles of Rise of the Ronin to the intricate world of Nioh, and the strategic depth of Dynasty Warriors. I can only imagine what new masterpieces they will unveil with their expanded team!

Koei Tecmo, known for games such as Rise of the Ronin, Nioh, and Dynasty Warriors (to name a few), has announced its focus will be stronger on the high-end console and PC gaming market in the future.

As per a report by Automaton Media, during a recent Q&A session with investors, Koei Tecmo stated that they anticipate an expansion in the market for console and PC games due to upcoming hardware launches. However, on the mobile side, the company does not foresee any substantial growth.

Koei Tecmo plans to consistently create top-tier games, focusing on annual launches of significant titles. In line with this strategy, they aim to expand their workforce, doubling it from 2,500 to 5,000 employees.

At the start of this year, the company announced they were setting up a dedicated internal team for creating top-tier video games, which you can learn more about by clicking here.
