There’s an Italian actor named Luca Marinelli who dons a bandana and delivers a stare reminiscent of the iconic Metal Gear Solid protagonist, Solid Snake, right into the camera. It’s like we’re transported back to those stealthy missions all over again!

In the fantastic 10-minute trailer, you might have missed one of the top Easter eggs. But here’s something interesting: filmmaker Hideo Kojima hinted at that very scene more than five years ago!

On his Instagram account last July 2020, the esteemed industry pioneer shared his thoughts on who among today’s creators and performers has caught his eye.

Kojima stated: “Luca Marinelli has recently grabbed my attention following The Old Guard and Martin Eden viewings. He delivered a remarkable performance as the villain in They Call Me Jeeg Robot, and I believe he’s on the verge of stardom, with his fan base expanding. Furthermore, if he were to wear a bandana, I think he’d closely resemble Solid Snake.

Five years on, it’s remarkable that the veteran carried out his initial plan, with Marinelli stepping into the role now being referred to by some fans as an unconventional take on the character, known as “Less-than-Solid Snake.
