June is typically a significant month in the video game industry as publishers often unveil their plans for the next six months during this mid-year period, with glimpses into what’s to come in the following year. Events like Summer Game Fest may have passed, but there are still more events expected in June. Most recently, Konami announced a livestream called Press Start, scheduled for Thursday, June 12th at 6 a.m. Pacific Time. This event is anticipated to last for approximately 37 minutes and can be viewed on YouTube [here](link to YouTube) and Twitch [here](link to Twitch).
It’s not surprising that the main emphasis appears to be on the upcoming releases of “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” and “Silent Hill“. These games are due out soon, so Konami has an opportunity to delve deeper into them than they did during last week’s State of Play. Yet, Konami hints that there will be additional titles to unveil beyond these two games.
To date, numerous fans are expressing their wishes for Thursday’s event, with some eagerly anticipating the potential Xbox release of last year’s Silent Hill 2 remake. Others are advocating for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Early Days Collection to appear on platforms beyond Switch and Steam. It’s plausible that we might witness some port announcements, but it’s also likely that fresh games could be introduced as well. It’s been a couple of years since the latest Bomberman release, and fans are clamoring for a new Castlevania game.
A plausible scenario we might witness during Konami’s Press Start live stream is additional content for the remake of Silent Hill 2 in the form of DLC (Downloadable Content). Since last year, fans have been theorizing that the ‘Born from a Wish’ storyline could return as DLC. This narrative was not originally part of the PlayStation 2 version of Silent Hill 2; it was added in later re-releases instead. Given that remaking this content as DLC has always seemed logical, and there have been leaks suggesting this is what’s happening, Konami’s live stream could be the ideal platform for the publisher to officially announce it.
The remake of last year’s “Silent Hill 2” was a delightful surprise, and fans are eagerly anticipating “Silent Hill f,” based on its recent showcase during State of Play. The game appears visually stunning, and the story is expected to bring significant changes to the series, with the participation of Ryukishi07. “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” also looks promising as the series has been relatively quiet since Hideo Kojima left Konami. Fans can hopefully look forward to a lot of exciting content from Konami’s Press Start livestream for both games.
