In the latest preview for “Kraven the Hunter,” viewers get an authentic glimpse of the menacing character, Rhino. This Spider-Man spinoff movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Sergei Kravinoff, who takes on the title role of our main character, Kraven. Following the trend of Sony Pictures’ other Spider-Man-related films, “Kraven the Hunter” portrays Kraven as an anti-hero, given his history as a foe to the web-slinger. As our protagonist, Kraven requires an adversary, and that role is filled by The Rhino in this film.
At approximately two minutes into the Kraven the Hunter trailer, Alessandro Nivola’s character, Aleksei Sytsevich, starts changing into Rhino. This transformation is signaled when he removes a medical syringe from his lower right side, and the camera focuses on his hands. His hands start bubbling with a grey liquid, mimicking the tough hide of a rhinoceros. Following this, an action sequence unfolds where Kraven is seen running and jumping onto the back of a jeep while wild boars pace nearby. In a swift move, the colossal Rhino punches at Kraven, but he manages to evade the blow, causing the Rhino’s fist to pass through the roof of the jeep. Ultimately, the massive Rhino uses his immense size to halt the jeep, sending Kraven soaring through the air.
Kraven the Hunter director teases the Spider-Man film’s R-rating
As a devoted fan, I’ve been eagerly waiting for the highly anticipated Spider-Man spinoff, “Kraven the Hunter,” which was initially delayed due to the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strikes and some strategic reshoots. This gritty, R-rated film, marked by strong bloody violence and language, has been on our radar since its blood-soaked red-band trailer was unveiled over a year ago. Now, it’s set to premiere in December! Director J.C. Chandor promises that this adult-oriented flick will leave audiences pleasantly surprised.
